Chaeyoung's POV
"Jungkook, hurry up!" I complained. It was already winter break; aka the week we left for Jeju Island. I had woken up very early (3 AM precisely) because I was so excited that I couldn't sleep.
"Wouldn't it be better if we left separately? It would be too suspicious if we arrived together!" Jungkook shouted back from his room, his voice muffled by the curtain.
Oh yeah. I completely forgot. Great going Chaeyoung. "Alright, if you say so! Just don't be late or the plane will leave without you." It was already 6 AM, and we had to arrive at terminal 2 by 7:30 AM. The reason for that was for the teachers. They had to take attendance and separate juniors as well as seniors into their respective sections.
Yes, our school rented a plane for this trip specifically. I guess that's a benefit of attending a private high school. I only got in through a scholarship, so I had no idea to how expensive tuition actually was.
I stepped out of my room, closing the door behind me. I took a deep breathe as I stepped out with my luggage, a contagious smile on my face.
"Ahh, I'm so excited!" I squealed out loud before I covered my mouth. Oops, didn't mean to say that out loud.
"Looks like someone's excited." I turned to my side to see Jungkook smiling, his luggage standing next to him.
I blushed in embarrassment, "I would have preferred if you didn't hear that... Anyway, didn't you say that we would leave separately?" I asked, curious to why he had contradicted his other statement.
"Well...." Jungkook scratched the back of his neck, a faint red tint on his ears, "It's still early in the morning, so it might be dangerous for you to walk alone."
I smiled, "I think I'll be fine, after all I did punch a hole into the wall," I chuckled, and I was sure there was a blush on my face, "but if you insist, be my guest."
-
"Hey, is there something going on with you and Jungkook?" Lisa asked me. Jungkook and I had just arrived, and both of us were receiving curious glances from fellow classmates.
"Ask your boyfriend, he might know," I said, "unless he doesn't trust you." I teased.
"Chae!" Lisa whined, "Seriously though. Is there something going on?" Lisa winked suggestively.
I stared at her as I considered my options. Should I tell her? She's my friend, but I don't know how well she can keep secrets.... I definitely can't tell her about us living together, but maybe about us being neighbors? I wouldn't exactly be lying...
"What? Is there something on my face?" Lisa asked, touching her cheek.
I shook my head, "Promise me you won't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you." I said, placing my hands on her shoulder.
"I promise." Lisa replied.
"Okay... Don't freak out," I took a deep breathe, "but we're neighbors."
Lisa stood frozen for a few seconds, to the point where I thought she had a heart attack, before she came back to life, "You're what?!" She exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise.
"Hush!" I placed a finger on my mouth, "Didn't you promise?" I felt multiple pairs of eyes staring at both Lisa and me.
"Okay, sorry, it just took me by surprise," she said, "are we talking next door neighbor? Like he lives right next to you?"
I nodded.
"Chae! How could you have hid this for so long?" Lisa exclaimed.
"There wasn't really a need to tell anyone until now." I shrugged nonchalantly.
"But this is big! What's more, he's Tae's best friend! How dare he not tell me..." Lisa muttered.
"I don't think Taehyung knows either, Jungkook and I promised each other to keep this a secret." I said, reassuring Lisa.
"Speak of the devil..." Lisa said, looking behind me.
"Lili!" Taehyung exclaimed from behind me, and engulfed Lisa in a hug.
"Get a room you two!" One of our classmates yelled.
I chuckled when both Lisa and Taehyung harbored deep red blushes on their cheeks.
Taehyung released Lisa from his embrace, and looked toward me, "So I heard your neighbors with Jungkook?"
"I take it, he told you?" I replied, crossing my arms.
"Of course, there was no way he could have dodged the question, especially when he arrived here with a girl." Taehyung said, an eyebrow lifted, one of his arms wrapped around Lisa's shoulders.
Taehyung looked around, before leaning forward to whisper, "So, did he do anything?" He winked.
"Yah, Kim Taehyung!" Lisa exclaimed, punching Taehyung lightly on the shoulder, "Although I am curious too." She said, looking at me attentively.
I blushed, "You've known Jungkook longer than me, of course he didn't do anything! He's a gentleman." I said, turning away in embarrassment.
Taehyung sighed, "As I expected... That guy has no balls."
"What was that Taehyung?" Jungkook said from behind Taehyung, pulling him into a headlock which caused Taehyung to release Lisa.
"You heard noth- ow! This is abuse!" Taehyung exclaimed as Jungkook gave him a noogie on the head.
Jungkook only hummed in response before releasing Taehyung, "You say I have no balls, but who was it that confessed first out of the two of you?" He asked, looking between Lisa and Taehyung.
Taehyung sighed in defeat, "Alright you got me," he gave Lisa a peck on the forehead, "my girl did break the tradition of boys confessing first." He said, looking fondly at Lisa.
Jungkook and I stood awkwardly, both of us trying our best not to look towards the intimate couple.
"You think we should give them space?" I whispered to Jungkook as I tugged his sleeve.
He looked towards Lisa and Taehyung before he blushed, "Let's."
