Eli was watching me. I writhed in the bed and made noises, uncomfortable. Dawn was the same.

I heard a sigh from the other bed from Casey. Really, having us all in one room, Dawn and me under constant watch was not helping anyone. I got out of bed, dragging Dawn with me.

"I've got to pee, she's coming with me, we can handle ourselves. Do. Not. Follow." I stated, leading a groggy Dawn out of the room and down the hall.

"I'm so exhausted but too on end to sleep. And having your friends watch you while you're sleeping in a bed does not help." Seh grumbled. Random kids were milling around the dark hallways. A large group of kids offered to just roam the school because of what happened. Sunday night, and half the junior population were awake.

"This is so stupid." I growled back. "All this for two students."

"Come quick! Hannah has been hurt!" Some little girl shrieked, racing to us, the nearest people, with tears running down her innocent face. Her green eyes were wide with fear and I followed as fast as I could manage. Dang, little kids are fast!

She led us to a room where another little girl was lying on the floor, bloody and twitching spasmatically.

"Oh my god." Dawn breathed. I rushed to the little girl's side, pushing her golden locks out of her broken and bleeding face. Her nose was smashed in, and her face was bruised and scratched, blood running in rivulets under her eyes like tears. Those eyes were wide open, but unseeing and glazed.

Her body was much worse.

Her hand was bent at an odd angle and a bone was peeking through the skin on her shin. Her limbs twitched in a rythmic pulse, and her body heaved randomly.

"What happened?" I asked the other little girl gently. She shook her head.

"There was a woman. I think Hannah may have recognized her, or was somewhat familiar with her face, b-because she smiled at the woman cheerily. B-but there were these dark things that came after the woman and broke Hannah. The woman was laughing but it sounded wrong. Hannah tried to scream but one of the dark things stuck it's claws into her mouth and sliced up her tongue. After the dark things broke her...she-the-sh-the woman put her hand to Hannah's forehead and-and" The girl burst into another round of tears. I cradled her in my arms, trying to soothe her.

"Shhh, you're okay, we'll help Hannah, shhh. You're okay." I calmed, rocking the small child slightly. Dawn smiled at me and entwined her fingers with the girl. She started to fall asleep in my arms and I wanted to cry from all the innocence that was in this girl. And she had witnessed a murder. Or, attempted murder...

"Dawn." I whispered, careful not to wake the girl. "Can you try and see..." I trailed off. Dawn nodded and stroked the broken girl's hand, the one that was shredded, but at least not crooked.

"She's alive, but I can't tell past that. We need Honey or Eli paired up with me. Soul have possession over emotional things, and stuff to do with the heart, mental feelings. But Shadow and Light have thoughts, Shadow more attuned to Deathly things, Light more attuned to Lively things. Shadow can sense if a person is in a coma, by the way their mind seems, and Light can tell if someone is going to come back. Shadow feel more than light though, if they can get into your mind then it's like the connection, except weaker, and can be severed by magic. Light are more outside the body, but can see right through you. Light can see right through every lie, because they simply know what is truth. For Shadow, the truth is blurry but lies are clear. For Light, they wouldn't know how to tell a lie from a pizza, but they know what is truth. Why am I going into this? We've got to get these poor girls back to our room. Then Hannah to the infirmary." Dawn said. I nodded.

"Have you got Hannah or should I?" I asked.

"I'll get her. Switching children would wake the other one, and that's unneccessary." Dawn replied. With that we lifted the two children and started off to Casey's room.

"What the hell?!" Lucas exclaimed when we walked in. He glared accusingly at me. "I thought you said you had to go to the bathroom!"

"My bladder can wait. Eli, Honey, Dawn needs your help." I said, nodding to Dawn and setting the other little girl down on the bed I had abandoned.

"Is Danny okay?" Lucas asked gruffly. I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"You know her?" I gestured to the little girl. She was sucking at her thumb and her breathing was shallow and long. That was actually a good thing.

"Yeah. The one under inspection is Hannah." He replied, his eyes filling up with tears. He reached for Danny's hand and ran his thumb over her soft skin lovingly. "Is Danny okay though? She doesn't look like she's breathing." His voice caught at the end.

"She's okay. Her innocence might be gone though, and her mental health will suffer. How do you know her?"

"Hannah's my sister and Danny is my cousin." He said solemnly, finally looking back up at me.

Aw, now I feel like an awful person for dragging the eight-year-olds into this. But all who are not idiots know for definitely who "The Woman" is targeting. Why has she used Fallon though? I thought Lucas wanted her dead! Hmmm, things for you readers to ponder. And thank you for reading, but please vote too! There have been no votes and only my friend has commented. :(

I think you'll hate me by the end of this book. And vote. I wanted to make this go on for longer, but Hannah getting hurt is just bringing us to our climax sooner. And don't worry there IS a sequel. No way am I letting go of all my awesome characters.

So, peace out fanners! And sorry this was so short and filler-ish, again.
