Weeks, months passed, but our group refused to participate in the mock wars. In gym we practiced, but never tried to inflict damage.
We focused on our non-physical classes and I learned a lot about second dimension history. Health was just a smidgeon off topic from the lessons back home, being that our bodies are different than normal humans. Our blood is special, heavily saturated with magic. And thins and thickens on cue. Warms and cools on cue. Magic Science(That takes the place of normal science) was ever-so-boring, but very important in my education of the dimension.
But the safe act was getting to me. Wherever I went, someone from the group was close by. Dawn avoided me at all costs because we decided that yet another stalker would break us. But I already was on end. They were making me feel as if something was definitely going to happen.
"Lunch." Lucas ordered, starting to the cafeteria. Eli had his arm slung over my shoulders, and people on the outside would think it was just a sweet boyfriendly gesture, but I knew it was so that if I decided to teleport Eli would come with me, defeating the purpose. I leaned my head on his shoulder and sighed stressfully. Eli's arm moved to my waist and he squeezed me comfortingly.
"Come on, with Aaron that was a little too close." He murmured. I nodded and stood up straight, but turned my head so I was staring at the ground. The halls were too quiet, the secrets too numerous.
"You guys, I think I found something in Hannah's head." Alex said, catching up with us. Lucas immediately stopped, but didn't look back.
"You went into my little sister's mind?" He gritted out. Eli rolled his eyes while Alex glared.
"No, I asked and she said of course because she wanted to help!" Alex snapped. Lucas whipped around and stalked up to Alex, looking him straight in the eye because they were pretty much the same height.
"Get this through your thick skull pretty boy, Hannah is my little sister and I will be protective over her. If someone so as lays a finger on her without her permission I will break them in two. She nearly got killed and doesn't need some random guy breaking into her mind. So watch your mouth and don't snap at me if I get ticked off." Lucas growled. Eli pushed himself in between the two and shoved Lucas back.
"Stop being all ticked off at nothing Lucas. Anything we find is useful, whether the means of getting the information are good or not." Eli scolded harshly. He then turned to Alex with a sigh. "What did you find?" Lucas bristled.
"Nice to know that random strangers take priority over trusted friends." Lucas retorted. Eli turned and glared at Lucas so fast I had to take a moment to process the change.
"Look, ever since you took Fallon's comments the wrong way you've been no friend. You're a jerk and a bastard just because she broke from all the stress. She's been pretty level-headed for someone who had been through that much in such a short amount of time. Get over yourself and suck it up. Everyone has their breaking point and when they do reach it it's not pretty." Eli fired back.
"I have my reasons for reacting the way I did! Get over yourself and stop acting like you can talk for everyone else!" Lucas shot.
"I'M NOT!" Eli yelled.
"YES YOU ARE!" Lucas screamed back. The kids in the hallway didn't for a swarm in a safe distance around the two, like in movies; they backed off. "AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THIS KID AND YOU'RE ACTING KINDER TO HIM THAN SOMEONE YOU CAN DEFINITELY TRUST!"
"Lately you can't be trusted, Lucas." I said quietly. But he heard it. And boy, was he mad...
"Lately I....LATELY YOU ALL HAVE BEEN SIDING WITH AARON! I GET MAD BECAUSE MY FRIENDS ARE AGAINST ME! WHAT DO YOU KNOW, MAYBE HE'S USING MAGIC TO MAKE HIM BE TRUSTED OR SOMETHING! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HIM!" Lucas exploded. I glared, and Alex took a step to him.
"Calm the hell down!" Alex snapped, and I closed my eyes. This was not good. Lucas's eyes were blazing and to accurately explain his anger, I could bet he was seeing red. He punched Alex in the face and Eli stepped in.
What happened next was a blur.
They were all fighting, and I just stood there like that dense little blonde girlfriend. Grittng my teeth, I set my stuff down and entered the fight stupidly. Someone's fist punched me in the face and I fell, a stream of colorful swearing leaving my mouth.
"Shit, Fallon, I'm so sorry." Alex said, running a hand through his hair. I shook my head.
"No, it's my fault for stupidly walking into a fight." I said, cradling the right side of my face.
"HE JUST FRICKING PUNCHED YOU IN THE FACE AND YOU'RE NOT MAD AT HIM! HE HURT YOU!" Lucas screeched. I flinched from the loud, high-pitched sounds emitting from him, then glared.
"You've hurt me more." I growled, standing up, grabbing my stuff, and brushing past him angrily.
