2018 – Anna's Point of View:

I seriously can't believe this is happening to me. John freaking Lennon is lying on my couch, passed out. Are you kidding me? It's one thing to get used to reading letters, texting, and hearing his voice, but to have him right in front of me? That's mind-boggling. I thought as I paced the floor.

"Anna, what's going on? Why is John Lennon from The Beatles lying on your couch? What are you not telling me?" Jass demanded, looking at me with wide eyes, her voice filled with curiosity.

"It's a long story, Jass," I replied, sitting down on the floor next to John. I carefully checked to make sure he was still breathing. He's okay... I thought, letting out a sigh of relief as I watched his chest rise and fall. I have to tell her everything.

"Well, I'm not going anywhere, so spill," Jass said, settling down beside me, her tone calm but expectant.

"Well, it all started when you dared me to write a letter. So, I did that. Somehow, John got the letter, and... well, I think you can figure the rest out." I let out a big breath, relieved to finally tell her. I've been wanting to say this since I got the first letter.

I looked over at Jass, unsure of what she was thinking. Was she hurt that I hadn't told her sooner? But then, suddenly, a look of realization crossed her face.

"Anna, do you know what this means?" she asked, her voice full of excitement, as she jumped up from the floor.

"No, why? Do explain." I rolled my eyes, half-annoyed at her eagerness.

"Don't you see? John's your soulmate!" Jass exclaimed, her voice loud and full of energy. The sudden outburst made John groan softly in his sleep. Oh god, why does John's moan have to sound so cute? Wait—no, stop. Dangerous territory, Anna!

Before I could stop myself, I jumped up and quickly covered Jass's mouth.

"Shh! And that's just wrong. He's not my soulmate, Jass. He can't be," I whispered urgently.

"Of course, he is! You asked for your soulmate when you mailed that letter. Point proven." Jass smirked, removing my hand from her mouth.

"Well, if he is my soulmate, then fate is cruel," I muttered, feeling a little overwhelmed by everything.

I could see Jass was about to say something else when the doorbell rang. John stirred, groaning softly as he woke up. Oh great, how am I going to explain all this to him? Help! I thought, panic rising.

"Oh bloody hell, my head hurts," John muttered, sitting up and rubbing his temples.

Great. I totally forgot that Lucy was walking my dog. This is so not a good time! I thought, casting a pleading look at Jass. She must've understood, because she grabbed my purse and headed for the door.

"Wait here," she said, opening the door to let Jack in while handing Lucy a ten-pound note.

Before I could go to John and explain anything, Jack came barreling in, knocking me over as he happily licked my face.

"Jack, off! Get off me! Jack!" I shouted, laughing despite myself.

In the blink of an eye, Jack jumped off me and ran straight to Jass, who was giggling.

I slowly got up, brushing myself off, feeling John's eyes on me. As I turned to look at him, I saw the shock and amazement on his face. Ugh, say something, Anna. He looks terrified. I would be too if I'd just time-traveled to the future. I thought, but for the life of me, I couldn't speak.

I just stared at him, speechless, unsure of how to begin explaining.
