The fight

Bloody hell, John thought, kicking a small pebble into the river. It skipped twice before sinking beneath the surface, making a soft splash that echoed in the quiet afternoon. He leaned against the bridge, arms crossed, staring down at the ripples, his mind racing. What the hell am I doing? His chest tightened as he replayed everything in his head. I ran from her... again. I shouldn't have snooped through her things. I should've told her everything before... before all of this happened.

When he woke up this morning, Anna was gone, and his heart had dropped when he found out what she had been researching on her computer. It was all there, the truth laid bare. The Beatles never made it, and it was his fault. I broke my own band, he thought bitterly. I did this to them. To all of us. His hand gripped the railing tighter, his knuckles white. If only I could fix it. If only I could go back...

The world seemed to continue moving around him while he stood there, frozen in time. People walked by, ducks swam, birds chirped. Everything was so normal, yet John felt completely disconnected from it all. How did this happen? How did I let everything go so wrong? And in the back of his mind, there was Anna. Her face, her smile, the way she had kissed him. But now... now he was torn. How could he leave her behind? How could he even think of going back to the past?

Then, just as he was about to lose himself in his thoughts, he heard her voice.

"JOHN!"

His heart skipped a beat, and for a moment, he wanted to keep walking. He wanted to keep running from all of this, from the mess he had created. But he couldn't do it—not with Anna. Not with the one person who had made everything feel worth it.

"Anna," he muttered to himself, turning around to see her running toward him. He felt a jolt of panic. She was so close, yet there was so much standing between them. She was right there, but she might as well have been miles away.

She caught up to him in a flash, grabbing his arm and pulling him into a kiss. It was intense, desperate, like she needed him just as much as he needed her. John kissed her back, his hands finding their way to her waist, pulling her closer. He didn't know how to feel anymore. One minute he wanted to stay with her; the next, he was terrified of losing her.

When they finally pulled apart, John held her close, breathing her in like she was the only thing keeping him tethered to this reality.

"I know I have to go back," he whispered, his fingers gently running through her hair.

Anna looked up at him, her brow furrowed with confusion. "But how did you find out? How are you even going to get back?" Her voice trembled, and her tears were already starting to form again.

"You left your computer open," John replied, guilt washing over him. I shouldn't have snooped, he thought, but he needed answers. I needed to know.

Anna wiped her eyes, trying to stay strong. "What did you do when you first came here, John?" she asked softly, as if she was hoping for some kind of answer.

John hesitated before answering, his voice low and almost distant. "All I know is that I wrote you a letter. I desperately wanted to see you. To feel your kiss again." His thumb brushed across her lips as if trying to imprint the moment into his memory.

She looked at him, her expression one of quiet understanding. "Maybe that's what you need to do now," she said with a small shrug. "Write a letter to Paul. Tell him how badly you want to see him again."

John's heart clenched when he heard anna say, "I wish you didn't have to go away. But you do. You have to go back." John took her hand, squeezing it his voice pleading to Anna. "What if you come with me. We could make it work. You could come with me on tour." John saw the hurt look on her face as she said " I can't come with you, John, I want to but I cant leave Jack by himself." John saw a mixture of sadness as a tear slid down her face. 'I have to say it. I cant leave her. gods I cant leave her.' John thought grabing her hand. "I can't leave you, Anna. But I need to fix this. I need to make things right."
