Jass sat on her bed with Jack nestled in her arms, her phone in hand as she scrolled aimlessly. It had been a month since Anna left, and everything had changed. Jass had sold her apartment and moved into Anna's place, bringing Jack along. The first few weeks had been hard. Jack had missed Anna terribly, searching for her every day and waiting by the front door as if he expected her to walk through it at any moment. Jass had felt that ache too. The silence in the apartment without Anna's laughter, her energy—it was almost too much to bear.

But now, with time, both she and Jack had settled into a new routine. They were finding their new normal, even if it still felt like something was missing.

"What do you think, Jack?" Jass asked, absentmindedly giving him a belly rub. "How do you think Anna's doing out there?"

"Bark!" Jack barked, his little tail wagging in response, and Jass couldn't help but smile.

"Well, let's see," she said, tapping her phone screen. "Let's look her up. Let's see what's going on." She typed quickly, her fingers pausing when the search results popped up. Her eyes narrowed as she read the headline of an article:

Anna Lennon
Anna Lennon is married to John Lennon. Little is known about her, except that she was madly in love with John, as was John with her. In 1963, they had a son, Julian, followed by two more children, Jasmine and Sean Lennon. In 1980, John Lennon was almost shot by Mark David Chapman, but Anna saved his life by knocking the assailant out with one of her books. Now, John Lennon and his wife are happily settled and enjoying life together.

Jass felt her breath catch as she read the final lines. Her heart swelled with pride, and she hugged Jack tighter. "She saved him, Jack! She saved John Lennon and changed history as we know it!"

Jack barked again, his enthusiasm matching hers as if he understood the significance of the discovery. Jass couldn't stop smiling. Anna had truly changed the world, her courage echoing through the ages in ways Jass could only imagine. She had saved John's life, and in doing so, had cemented her place in history.

But as Jass continued to scroll, something caught her eye. An old photograph attached to the article—a picture of John Lennon with his family. And standing beside him, with a smile that made Jass's heart skip a beat, was none other than Paul McCartney.

Jass stared at the picture, her fingers lingering on the screen. Paul was younger in the photo, his hair a little longer, his eyes brighter. He looked different somehow, yet there was something familiar about him that she couldn't quite put her finger on. She had always known about Paul—everyone knew about Paul McCartney. But there was something in his expression in this photo, something in the way he was looking at Anna... Jass felt a strange pull, something deep in her gut, a mix of curiosity and an odd fluttering sensation.

She shook her head, brushing off the thought. "What's wrong with me? He's just a famous musician. And married—" She paused. Then, as if the thought had popped into her head from nowhere, she found herself wondering, What would it be like to meet him?

Jack seemed to notice the shift in her mood, his little head tilting curiously as if asking, What's on your mind, Jass?

Jass snapped out of her reverie, laughing softly. "Nothing, Jack. Just thinking too much." She closed the phone, but the image of Paul McCartney lingered in her mind, his smile almost as if it was beckoning her, drawing her in. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this than just a simple photo.

The thought made her uneasy, a subtle tug at the back of her mind. She shrugged it off, trying to focus on Jack instead. "Alright, let's go for a walk, yeah? We could both use some fresh air."

As they headed out the door, Jass couldn't stop thinking about Paul. It was silly, she told herself. She was just imagining things. But as the cool evening air hit her face, she couldn't help but wonder... if she were ever to meet him, what would it be like? What if there was more to this story than she knew? And then, a shiver ran down her spine, as if the universe was quietly whispering that her journey was far from over.

Little did she know, the pull she felt toward Paul McCartney was just the beginning.

To be continued...
