Waking up on my bed has me confused that is until I see Blackfoot sitting in my desk chair holding a picture that Dylan and I took at Santa's workshop last Christmas.

"He was so excited cause his class won the 'toys for tots' competition his school had and he got to help the elves paint the toy trains." I say with a small smile, Even through I'm still not convinced he wasn't the spawn of Satan, he had one of the biggest hearts I've had the pleasure of knowing.

'Crying only shows weakness and we are NOT' weak' mom's stern voice hits me hard. Biting my lip hard so the physical pain can override the emotional.

" Right we need to talk. I'm sure you have questions as do I, but they will have to be put on hold we have to get on the road." nodding my head cause he's right about the question.

"Your friend Liam" He says Liam's name like he's the devil himself. "Said that he will box everything up for the movers to bring to you."

"Okay one" holding up my pointer finger " Liam is my boyfriend not just a friend two, are we not even going to talk about me staying with Mr. Draggers? I don't want to leave my home, and friends. I have a life here."

Blackfoot exhales loudly. " You will not be staying with Draggers, you can make friends in Virginia and keep in touch with your friends here, social media and what not.. Please Kierra lets not make this harder then it already is."

Harder. what the hell is so hard for him? Sure he is stuck with a teenage girl that he may or may not have known about, but everyone he loves is still alive. He didn't just lose his whole world in the blink of a eye.

Sitting in the passengers seat of my 2018 Range Rover because Blackfoot figured I wouldn't want to be left without a car. At least he is considerate enough on that front, but I have to admit it's a little unsettling his eagerness to make me happy. Who knows maybe it's guilt that's making him so caring of my wants.

Blackfoot hops in the drivers seat while I take one last look of the home I won't be seeing for a while. The home that holds so much love and memories. I still think this is all a dream and I'll wake up and Dylan will be begging me to take him out, mom and dad slow dancing in the kitchen. But as the engine starts the vision of that disappears as does the house from my sight.

After about 10 minutes of silence I can't take it anymore. I have questions that I think I have the right to know. The only problem is I can't really think of a tactful way of asking are you a deadbeat or not?

"So I have question you have question how about we each get to ask one at a time to be completely honest with our answers?"

"Sounds like we have a deal"

" So what's your home like?" I know I'm chicken shit. But slow and steady wins the race right?

Blackfoot gives me side glance from the drivers seat, visibly relaxing like he's happy I decided to take it slow.

Yeah well don'y get to comfortable.

"I live on my tribes land, in a nice size home. you will have your own space away from your brother's. My wife Lexi told me that a girl needs her space. My parents your grandparents are only a short walk away. I must warn you though Mom has been decorating your room so I hope you like bright colors. She might have over done it a bit seeing as your the only girl to be born in the family for generations."

" Brother's, as in more then one? You have other children? Only girl in generations. How is that even possible I'm mean sure I know it's a 50/50 shot at either or but damn! just how many generations?"
