The doctor had called us and we all walked up. Ant's mom held my hand as the doctors was talking.
"I'm Doctor Rodriguez, I was the overseer for both the two men" He said
"Is our sons okay?" Ants mom asked holding back tears
He sighed "Mr. Johnson is in critical condition, he's come and go but he looks as if we should expect improvement"
Rashad's mom clapped her hands "Thank you god!"
I put my head down thanking God.
"Ma'am Id like to speak with you in private" He motioned towards Ant's mom
We all snapped our heads towards him. I held onto Ant's mom's hand as she dragged me with her.
"Tell me my son is okay Doctor" She pleaded
He placed his hand on her shoulder "Ms.Thomas, Anthony took three bullets to the chest. He lost a lot of blood, we tried everything we could. I'm so sorry for your lost"
Ant's mom eyes got wide and then she fell out into my arms crying and screaming.
"MY BABY!!" She yelled "THEY TOOK MY BABY AWAY FROM ME"
All I could see was my mom in her the night baby boy died. I comforted her. We slid down the wall she laid in my lap just crying.
"Fuck man!" Trip punched a wall
They all knew what the doctor said once Ant's mom broke down like this. Ty sat with his head down shaking violently as Talia whispered in his ear and Tae held his head down comforting Rashad's mom.
"Why! Why would they take my child from me!" She yelled
I rubbed her back as the tears spewed from my eyes. This had to be one of the worst days of our lives.
///6:00am
It had been hours and we were still at the hospital. Trip went to drop Ant's mom off at home. Talia, Ty, and Tae had fell asleep. It was just me and Rashad's mom. She sat next to me.
"You okay?" She asked
I nodded "I should be asking you that"
"Chile, when your son does the things that Rashad does, sometimes you lie awake at night waiting on these calls. I've mentally prepared myself for these things." She said "But I'll never be prepared for what Ant's mom is going through right now. A mother never wants to bury her child"
"How am i gonna tell him one of best friends died?" I asked her
She shrugged "Calmly. And afterwards just be there for him." She turned her body towards me "I know what Rashad did to you-"
I cut her off "No disrespect Mama J, but none of that matters right now. All I care about is him getting better"
She smiled at me then went back to texting on her phone. I continued to sit there shaking my leg.
"Rashad Thomas family" The doctor called out
Talia, Ty, and Tae jumped up. We all walked over to the doctor.
"We will allow guest in his room, now he is unconscious but he can hear you" The doctor said "All of you can not pile in there so go in turns"
"You, Amour and Ty go" Talia said "I'll go when y'all come back"
We all nodded and followed the doctor into his room and he stepped out giving us privacy. I stood back as Ty and Mama J walked up to his bedside. I just viewed his body wrapped up and the bloody gauze around his head. I tiptoed over to him.
Mama J was holding his hand rubbing his face "Oh my baby"
"Bro you gotta wake up outta this shit. Its hard seeing you down and out" Ty whispered
I just looked like a sad puppy dog and who had lost their owner. I held his hand just staying quiet as Ty and Mama J talked. They left out and Talia and Tae came in. They spoke to Rashad and then me.
"You wanna go home and change?" Talia asked
I shook my head "I don't wanna leave his side Talia"
She nodded "I understand that girl"
"Ill go to your house and pick up some clothes and things for you so you can shower and all that here" Tae offered
"Yeah A, we can do that and bring you car up here for you and all that" Talia added
I nodded digging my keys out my purse handing it to Tae "Thank you guys"
"No problem A" Talia said hugging me
Tae hugged me "Stay strong baby girl"
I nodded and smiled "Trying to"
They left out the room and I just sat there holding onto Rashad's hand.
"Seeing you like this really hurts my heart" I whispered to him "It hurts all of us. Tonight has been one of the worst nights of my life."
I stared at him until Talia came back with my change of clothes and my car. I talked to her for a moment and then I showered in the hospital shower and came back to Rashad's side.
I came back and kissed his lips "Goodnight baby, I love you"
I sat down laying my head down on the side of the bed still holding his hand. At some point I drifted off to sleep just as the soon was coming up.
