He chuckled "My bad ma, I thought you was on the front porch"
"Nah Tae's back scenery of the trees and the river puts me at peace" I said with a smile
He pulled out a blunt "I just came out here to smoke this real quick."
He flicked his lighter lighting his blunt taking a drag.
"Look stressed" He said blowing out smoke
I sipped my wine and shrugged "Life sucks"
He chuckled "Can't be too bad. Pushin a lambo, got a pretty baby girl, you a model"
"And life still sucks" I threw the wine back drinking it all
He sat down on Tae's patio chairs "It can only get better. Your lowest points gets you ready for your best comebacks"
"Well sure hope I'm about to make a major comeback because at this point, I just feel like shit" I sat down on the table infront of him
He stuck his hand out with the blunt "Wanna hit?"
I took it out his hand hitting the blunt. The feeling of the smoke filling my lungs felt great. I hit it again before passing it back to him.
"Just need a blunt that's all" He said joking
We sat outside talking. Dave was so interesting and his voice was something I could listen to all the time. We ended up smoking two blunts. I was a little wine drunk and I was high.
"Your eyes are not open" Dave said laughing at me
I widened my eyes laughing "They are open! It's just my eyelashes make my eyes look lower"
He leaned up in his seat "You blink too fast you gone' fly away"
I pushed his shoulder "Boy shut up"
"Nah but like I was saying, Man you do what you wanna do. Life too short to be depressed and saying Life sucks. You got so much to live for and be happy about, if you can't think of nothing think of your child. That's what keeps me going. Without Kairi I'd be lost" He said
"Kairi? That's your little girl?" I asked him
He nodded showing me his lock screen of a pretty little girl.
"Boy you can't deny her even if you wanted to" I said laughing "She look just like you"
He laughed putting his phone back in his pocket "You ain't lying. It's like God took a copy of my face and put it on hers"
"You ain't lying" I said laughing
A comfortable silence fell over us. He just kept staring at me. And my high ass was staring at him.
He leaned in and so was I. We were just about to meet halfway.
The patio door opened "Me and Talia finna head out A"
Ty poked his head out the door. I quickly snatched myself back from Dave.
Ty shut the door awkwardly. I knew he was gonna run and tell Rashad.
Dave was gonna go in for that kiss again but I stood up.
"Dave I just got outta a relationship. This can't happen. That's my baby's fathers best friend and I already know he's gonna go tell him that we were about to kiss and I just don't need those problems with hi-" I was cut off
Dave stood up kissing me and then pulling back.
"I ain't worried about ya ex nigga or his friend. And I understand you just got out of a relationship. But I fucks with you Amour. I ain't trynna rush shit with you. You cool people to me"
I blushed turning on my heels to the patio door "Imma go walk them out"
He nodded sitting back down as I walked inside the house.
I grabbed Tae and Talia bringing them into a group hug.
"Bitches Dave just kissed me" I whispered in they ear
They both gasped really loud and pulled me outside while Ty was talking to Shooter.
"Did you kiss him back?" Tae asked
"I mean Duh!" I said
"You tried to play all hard ball but I knew you liked that tall man" Talia said giggling
I rolled my eyes "Ty saw us outside about to kiss"
Talia waved her hand "Girl who cares? Who he gone tell? Rashad? Again, who cares! Your single! You do what you wanna do just like he did!"
"PEEEEEEEERIOD!!" Tae said doing it like the city girls
We hugged Talia one last time as Ty walked outside. Me and Tae walked back inside.
"We finna slide too, we got flights in the mornin" Dave said standing up with Shooter in the living room
"Bye y'all" Tae said
Tae pushed me to go walk out with them.
"Hope y'all ate good" I said as we made it outside
Shooter hugged me "When we get back here, I'm comin for anything you cooked. Be safe out here"
He walked off to his car. I turned to look up at Dave who was towering over me.
"You be safe out there" I said putting my finger in his chest
He laughed "I will"
He smiled "You'll still be fine when I get back?"
I laughed "If not finer"
He nodded hugging me "That's what I like to hear"
"Let me know when you made it home safe" I told him as he stepped off the porch
"Ite" He said as he climbed into his car
I waved as they both pulled off and walked back into the house. Tae was standing in the doorway.
