AFTER 3 MONTHS....

"Jay, I'm sorry... I'm really sorry..."
I knelt before him, crying, my hands trembling as I pleaded for forgiveness.

Nausea churned in my empty stomach. My head spun with regrets that never fully formed, my heart pounding like it was dragging tar through my veins. I felt hollow—emotionally bankrupt. There was nothing left to feel, nothing left to say. Just the void swallowing me whole.

He stood by the window, his back turned to me. He didn't speak. He didn't move. The silence between us screamed louder than words.

When he finally looked at me, I saw a man hanging by a thread. Just one more blow, and he would break.

And I... I was that final blow.

How could I not believe him? How could I believe them instead?

He trusted me. He begged me to believe in him. He cared for me—loved me. And I destroyed all of that.

I wasn't there when he needed me most. I betrayed his trust. I humiliated him in front of everyone.

The office was filled with tension. Andrew, Fin, Dev, Elina... and Isabela Morin. Jay's new PA—the one I was convinced he was having an affair with.

She stood quietly in the corner, her eyes filled with sadness and—surprisingly—sympathy. She was feisty, sharp, unapologetically strong, but I had never truly understood her. I let my insecurities turn her into my enemy.

When she was hired, I didn't mind her. But Tanya, always stirring the pot, began whispering poison in my ear—insisting Jay would leave me for Isabela, just like he left her after sex. I brushed her off, thinking it was jealousy talking.

Then Aria and Esme echoed the same suspicions. They saw Jay and Isabela together, they said. And slowly, doubt crept in.

When I confronted Jay, he was honest—calm. He told me nothing was going on, and defended Isabela with conviction. That only made my insecurity worse.

Isabela was not only beautiful but intelligent and assertive. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind or challenge Jay when needed. And I—foolishly—felt threatened.

I asked him to fire her. He refused.

That rejection sent me over the edge.

And then... the incident.

Someone set them up. Isabela received a call, supposedly from Jay, asking her to meet a client at a hotel. Jay received the same kind of call, allegedly from Isabela.

When Jay arrived, he found men trying to assault her. He fought them off, gave her his shirt to cover up, and as they left—paparazzi stormed in and snapped photos of the scene. The image of them together spread like wildfire.

Everyone believed the worst. Even I did.

Andrew and Fin stood by Jay, but Dev and Elina took my side. The world knew Jay as a playboy. And I, blinded by my own fear and rage, humiliated him when he tried to explain.

He brought Isabela to the house for her safety. I left that same night.

I stayed with Elina. Tanya visited, acting like a supportive friend. I believed her—every poisonous word.

That's how I met Emanuel—Jay's friend, and Tanya's best friend. He had visited Jay's home before. I trusted him too.

But everything... everything was a lie.

Tanya orchestrated the entire scandal. Her revenge for Jay rejecting her. She hired people to impersonate him and Isabela, staged the photos, manipulated my closest friends into believing it all.
