We've all heard tales of brides fleeing the altar... but what if it's the groom who disappears, leaving behind a heartbroken bride with shattered dreams and unanswered questions?
On what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life, her groom van...
Two days passed... It seemed like Jay had been swamped with work. I chose not to disturb him—he probably had enough on his plate already.
"Okay, Ju... go downstairs. I'll be down in a minute," I told her, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.
"Okay, Mom!" she giggled, dashing out of the room with excitement written all over her face.
"Sweetie... careful!" I called after her, smiling at her joy. Today was a big day—her first day at her new school. Jay had promised he would take her, but something urgent came up, and he had to leave the house early.
As I stood up, a sudden wave of dizziness washed over me. My hand flew to my mouth as nausea rose violently, and I stumbled into the bathroom. Leaning over the sink, I vomited.
After rinsing my mouth, I looked up at my reflection in the mirror, my face pale and eyes tired.
Am I... pregnant?
The thought hit me like a quiet thunderclap.
Maybe I should check... after this.

Andrew and Tilly accompanied me to drop Julissa off at her preschool. Of course, the security guards were with us as always.
"Be good to everyone, baby. Good luck," I whispered, brushing her hair back and planting a kiss on her head.
"Okay, Mom! Love you! Bye!" she called, skipping happily toward the entrance.
"She'll be fine, Jessy," Andrew reassured, placing a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded. "Yeah... she's strong."
"Let's head back home."
"Andrew... can we stop by the pharmacy?" I asked softly.
"Why? Are you not feeling well?"
"No... I just need to pick up a few things."
Back at home, I rushed straight to the bathroom. My hands trembled as I opened the pregnancy kit. After peeing on the stick, I waited—my heart pounding louder than the ticking clock. I closed my eyes, then peeked through one.
Two lines.
I gasped.
Oh God... I'm pregnant.
My thoughts swirled wildly. Before I could process anything, someone burst into the bathroom.
Startled, I dropped the kit into the sink.
"Aria?" I blinked in shock. She stood there, panting, like she'd just sprinted a marathon.
"Jessy... I saw Tanya," she said breathlessly.
My heart stopped. "What? Where?"
"When I was out buying groceries—I saw someone who looked like her. I wasn't sure, but then she took off her sunglasses, and I knew it was her. I followed her. I saw where she's staying."
