After I finished all the orders, I left the shop to deliver them to my supplier. Once everything was dropped off, I headed to Mr. Watt's coffee shop.

"Hey, you guys are here?" I asked as I walked in, spotting Jay and the others at a window table.

Elina's face lit up the moment she saw me. She leapt from her seat and hugged me tightly.
"God, Jessy, I missed you!" she exclaimed.

"Me too, darling," I laughed, hugging her back.

"We were actually planning to visit you this evening after Jay mentioned you... but what a nice surprise to run into you here instead!" Dev grinned as he pulled me into a warm hug. "Missed you, Jessy."

"Missed you too," I smiled.

I noticed Julissa sitting beside Jay, quietly enjoying her slice of cake as if the world around her didn't exist. "Jeez, don't tell me you skipped your new tuition again," I said with a sigh.

She was smart—too smart, sometimes. People often didn't know how to handle her sharp wit.

"She's adorable," Dev said through a laugh. "We couldn't stop cracking up. I think she roasted every teacher she's ever had on the way here."

"I just told the truth," Julissa said with a nonchalant shrug.

"And you've got an attitude," I said, folding my arms.

"By the way, Jessy," Dev added, "we're having a little party tonight at a nearby bar. Come join us."

I was about to decline, but Elina and Dev teamed up to guilt-trip me with puppy eyes, and I finally caved. "Alright, alright. I'll come."

"Jessy!" Mr. Watt called out from behind the counter. I turned and smiled.

"Hey, Mr. Watt! These are the cupcakes you ordered," I said, handing him the basket.

"Thank you, Jessy!" He took the basket with a grateful smile. "And in return, I have a little surprise for you."

He pointed toward the doorway.

"Hey, darling!" came a familiar voice.

Standing there, smiling wide, was Mr. Watt's son—Adrian.

"Jesus... Adrian!" I ran up to him, and he lifted me off the ground, twirling me around.

"Missed you, baby," he said, beaming.

"Haha, put me down!"

He finally released me. Adrian was in the army. I'd met him through Mr. Watt, who was a close friend of my late grandmother.

"Where's my girl?" Adrian looked around expectantly.

"Nope. I don't exist," Julissa muttered, shaking her head.

Ignoring her attempt to vanish, Adrian swooped in, picked her up, and smothered her face with kisses.

"Eww... Uncle, stop it!" she groaned, trying to wriggle free.

I chuckled. Julissa always acted annoyed with Adrian. He treated her like a child, and she desperately wanted to be seen as an adult. Typical Ju—stubborn and proud.

"Guess what—I got you a brand-new oven," Adrian said with a wink.

"Oh my God, seriously?" I gasped.

He nodded. "Told him about your old one catching fire, and we decided to get you a proper one," Mr. Watt added, joining us.

"Thank you, both of you," I said, touched. "I really don't know how to repay you... I'm honestly speechless."
