Chapter 14

Aloha

The girls headed back to the house at the time they agreed to come back according to Hank's terms. The whole family was gathered in the living room area for one last hurrah before Amelia's family goes to the airport the next morning. The girls decided to join in on the fun with board games and cards since they knew it was a rare occasion both their families got together for this kind of bonding time.

"How was the beach, girls?" Hank asked.

"It was great. I'm sad to see Amelia go," Lynae said with genuineness in her voice.

"Me too," Meredith agreed.

"I'm glad you girls rekindled your relationship with one another. I know it must be hard to see your cousin go back to Delaware, but maybe we could pay a visit when Christmas or Thanksgiving comes around," Hank hinted.

"Really?!" The girls' eyes lit as they said in unison.

"Hank, are you sure you can afford time off around that time?" Brie asked.

"I'll make it work, I always do anyhow,"

"We'll be glad to have you there when that time comes, Hank," Bill placed a hand on his shoulder.

The families laughed with joy and had such a great time that evening. By morning, Amelia, the boys, and their parents were packed and ready for their flight home. While saying their goodbyes, the girls said their goodbyes by hugging one another.

"I'm just a telepath a way," Amelia said.

"How about you telepath us and we'll call you since we don't have that ability?" Lynae suggested.

"All you need to do is call out to me in your head and I'll answer – that is if I'm not hung up on anything," Amelia said.

"Really, we just call out to you within our minds?" Lynae questioned.

"Yeah, you can't telepath with one another but you can telepath with me since I can reach your thoughts,"

"Well most of everyone's thoughts." Lynae pointed out gesturing towards Meredith.

"I can still telepath you and you can relay the message to Meredith." Amelia suggested.

"So have you gotten the whole telepathy down?" Meredith asked.

"Yeah you could say that. I don't know but I am going to work on controlling it and making it stronger to achieve."

"We'll work on our abilities as well – even though we never asked for it to begin with," Lynae said with an unwavering tone.

"I'm sorry I dragged you all into this. I had to know or otherwise I don't know what would have happened to me if I didn't act on it. Ever since going that night, I haven't had any epileptic episodes – especially with the events that could have triggered it," Amelia apologized.

"It was inevitable. If you have the mer gene, then we do too. We would have probably had hints of going to transform anyway if we didn't go with you. Even with knowing that we are the descendants of the magical royal family – we couldn't have avoided it for much longer," Meredith explained the possibilities.

"Are you going to be okay with school next week?" Amelia asked.

"I've dealt with worse – from which you knew reading my mind without my permission,"

"Sorry,"

"Don't be, if you didn't, I would have kept it in longer and would have resented my parents a bit more. Plus, with you getting dirt on the principal like that, it should be easier to deal with," Lynae said.
