Bones; Her story. (On hold)

Chapter three

Brennan's eyes eased open. The beeping of the heart monitor notifying her she wasn't where she woke up yesterday. She felt a grasp on her right hand and turn her tense neck to the man asleep next to her. A smile crept onto her face when she saw booth with his head propped up on his hand while his elbow held all the weight. The way he was laying told Brennan he would have a very bad crick in his neck when he woke.

Leaning up enough to examine her surroundings she tighten the grip on Booths hand letting him know she was awake. "Booth. Booth wake up." her voice was weak but it woke him up quick.

"Hey bones you're awake." He leaned from his position wincing when the pain of the crick shot up his spine into his neck. "You've had a ruff night. Can I get you something to drink? I have to tell the nurse your awake." He stood up hand still linked to hers.

"Yes that would be great. Water please." He stood up releasing her hand and walked toward the door "Booth, thank you. For saving me." she was a little hesitant but couldn't be anymore grateful. He gave a slight smile "Always, Bones. now rest you really need it. "

When Booth returned to her room he found three of Brennan's closest friends standing around the bed. Angela was holding Brennan's hand and had tear tracks down her tan cheeks. Hodgins stood over Angela with a smile spread across his face. Cam stood on the opposite side as the couple with a hand on Brennan's shoulder. "Hey bones I brought you some water. The cafeteria was full so I ran to the truck and got some. Sorry it's kind of warm." He smiled with Angela looked up to him.

"Hey studley. How you doing?" She said in her suductive voice that booth never payed attention too. Angela was married and was expecting. She just said stuff like that bc that's who she is.

"I'm good ange. Hey I'm not trying run you guys out but bones need some rest. The nurses orders not mine." His voice was innocent but truth was he just wanted to be alone with bones. His bones.

"It's okay guys. I really am glad you all came to see me. But he is right I am tired." Brennan said in a huffy voice. She didn't want to be alone but she knew she needed rest.

"Alright sweetie you call me if you need anything! And I mean it" Angela stood up and hugged her bestfriends neck, careful not to desturb any of her wombed mussels. "Yea we better get going." Cam added. "Is it all right if you guys drop me off that the Jeffersonian Michelle is waiting for me there? sorry I didn't bring it up sooner." She pulled the famouse Cam smile that everyone at the Jeffersonian knew by heart. "Yea no problem. Well we better get going. See you doctor bee. I hope you get to feeling better" Hodgins noted as Angela, Cam, and hisself walked toward the door.

"Booth you don't have to stay either," brennan said as booth plopped down in his seat that he would claim his until she left the hospital. "Hanna is probably worried sick about you."

"No bones I'm not going anywhere. Hannah will be just fine with out me." he said in his 'I don't give a crap' tone.

"But booth," she was cut short by a knocking on the door. Hanna walked in with a slight smile on her face.

"Hi Temperance," she called Brennan temperance ever since they meet "how are you doing. Booth called an said you where kidnapped. I hope you weren't raped." She said not feeling at all simpathetic toward her.

"Hanna that's enough, now please leave. What happen to bones is none your business. I'll see you at home later." He was stern. He was only this way when someone treated something or someone he loved like crap.

"No it's okay. She wants to know. No Hanna I didn't get rapped. Just stabbed and kicked a few times," her voice started to fade as the tears showed there arrival in her beautiful eyes. the memories flashed in her mind. The tears began to fall.

"It's okay bones, I'm right here no one is gonna hurt you." He comforted her by taking her hand. "I'm here now."

Hanna was in utter shock. Was her boyfriend showing affection to another woman that she know liked him? yes, and she wasn't gonna sit and let it happen. "Seeley can I speak to you in private for a moment please?" she was expecting him to say no so she was getting prepared to have a fight.

"Yea just a second," he turned facing bones "I'll be back in a second. Do you need anything?" he stood up hands still tightly bound together.

"No booth I'm fine. Thank you." she was getting tired and really need her rest so she was happy they where going to speak in the hall.

"Okay Hanna let's make it quick." He said as he stepped out in the hall closing the door. He knew what was about to happen.

"Seeley when are you coming home? you haven't been home ever since yesterday morning."she blurted out.

"Hanna stop. She needs someone right now. She was just kidnapped and tortured. What if that was you. Would you want to be left alone or go throw this alone?" he stated with a frustrated expression on his face.

"When your done playing hero, Seeley, I will be at home waiting for you." She stormed out of the hospital and to be honest Booth really didn't care. He walked back into the white hospital room that held his bestfriend. His partner.

"Hey, where's Hanna?" she asked in a calm voice. She was on the verge of falling asleep.

"She- ah she said she would meet me at home" he didn't lie. He just didn't tell the whole story. he wished Hanna was more like bones. No he wished bones was Hanna. Maybe one day.

Brennan nodded. Partly knowing he wasn't telling the whole truth but let it slide bc she was too tired argue with him about it.

"Okay. You don't have to stay anymore I'm fine. I'm just going to rest. You should probably go home and shower and eat." She said wile laying back on the very uncomfortable bed.

"Bones are you sure you want to be alone?" He was really worried and didn't feel alright about leaving her alone. She could have a night mare, anything could happen.

"Yes Booth. I've been alone most of my life and I was fine so I will be fine now." She sounded sad which broke booths heart. He wanted to tell her he loved her and he would never leave her side but he couldn't. What if she didn't feel the same way.

The only thought that came to his mind was. "Bones. You will never be alone. As long as the squints are around, you will never be alone." He paused "as long as I am around, bones you will never be alone."

This brought a smile to the anthropologists face. "Thank you booth but you have a kid and a girlfriend to tend too. I can't keep you from them, I'll be fine." She wouldn't be fine. She didn't want him to leave, but she knew what the conversation in the hall was about so she let him go. For now.

"Okay bones but tomorrow morning I will be here. If I'm not here when you wake up, I promise I will be there soon after. Just please promise me something. Can you do that?" he received a gentle nod. "Okay promise me, if you wake up in the middle of the night you will call me. Okay?" again he received a nod. "Good night bones."

He kissed her knuckles and stood to leave. "Good night Booth." He smiled and left the irrey hospital to go home to the beast he called a girl friend.
