Chapter nineteen

Booth sat up, he had went back to his apartment instead of sleeping at Brennan's. Although he didn't tell Brennan, he thought it was to early into there relationship to be sleeping in the same bed.

He glanced at the clock, 6:54, he had to go to work. Today he was going to be without his partner, the thought just made his more upset, he had planned on going over to her place tonight after work to surprise Piper, it just depended highly on how much paper work Cullen had assigned him.

He pulled his red velvet blanket back and stepped onto the chilly floor, today was going to be a rough day.

Brennan woke up sheekly early out of habit. Piper had slept in her own bed last night, which made Brennan wonder if she slept good. Of course she was use to sleeping in new places, just as Brennan was when she was a child, but Brennan just couldn't help but to wonder.

She pulled back the thick covers and sat up. Glancing at the clock she stood up, making her way to the bathroom she yawned, she had just realized how tired the last few days had actually made her, but she wouldn't trade any of them for the world.

She answered the call of nature and flush the toilet, she walked out of the bathroom and grabbed her phone. She pressed the home button to find a text from Booth

'Goodmorning beautiful, hope you slept well! Call me around lunch, okay?'

She replied with a huge smile plastered on her face

'Goodmorning, and okay, be safe today please..'

She slid her phone into her pajama shorts pocket, walking to the kitchen she heard the little foot steps of Piper. She smiled and called to the sweet child

"Hey baby, in here." the little girl smiled at the sound of her mothers voice.

"Mommy!" Brennan opened her arms to allow the little girl access to a warm hug.

"Hey sweet girl, how did you sleep?" Pipers smile was from ear to ear.

"I sleep good mommy, where daddy?" Brennan's smile was glowing.

"Remember last night? He went back to his home because he had to work." The little girl looked confused for a moment then remembering last night her face lit back up.

"O is he comin bak?" Brennan's smile loosened alittle

"Yes swear heart he is, later though." The little girl smile began to glow brighter at the possibility to see her daddy.

"Let's go eat some breakfast huh?" Piper nodded and kissed her mommys cheek, making Brennan fall deeper in love with her foster daughter.

Booth walked into his office to a huge pile of paper work, like he expected. He sighed and sat down, the chair he had wasn't good for his back but it did it's job as a chair. He opened the first file and began to work on it, about a hour into his paper work he was interrupted by a almost silent knock on his glass door, he looked up to find a very nervous Piper.

"Hey baby! What are you doing here?" he stood up and walked to the little girl.

Pipers face lit up with a bright smile, just as she was about to speak Brennan showed her presence in the door way.

"We came to surprise you, You want to go to lunch? I spoke to Cullen and he said you could take a early lunch if you want to.." Brennan answered for the little girl

Booths face was filled with delight, "of course Bones! let me just sign this last file and I'll be able to leave." he sat Piper back down on the surface of the floor and smiled "I'll be done in a second."

The three ate their lunch at a familiar restraint, all of them ordered the same thing, Pipers being the one from the kids meal. They ate their lunch with minimum conversation, the conversation they did have was a good one.

"Booth, you know Piper would love if you stayed over at my place tonight." Brennan ducked her head as she used Piper as a excuse to get Booth to say the night.

"Are you sure you wouldn't love it too?" Brennan's cheeks flushed as Booth busted through her frail excuse.

"Maybe, so what do you say?" Brennan face was now lifted with a half smile across her lips.

Booth was hesitant to reply, a smile spread across his face "I would love too, bones. But ah are we gonna sleep in the same bed?"

"If you want to I don't mind." Her cheeks where beginning to turn heated.

"That would be great, but it's time for me to head back, I'll see you guys later tonight," he kissed Pipers head as he stood up "bye baby," he laid his tip on the edge of the table and leaned in and kissed Brennan, which she happily kissed him back. "Bye bones."

Brennan smiled "bye Booth, have fun with paper work." he shot her a glance and smiled.

"Bye guys." Brennan watched as booth walked out of the small café.

"You ready to go Piper?" the little girl licked her lips before replying.

"Yes mommy let's go, I sleepy" Brennan smiled at the little girl small amount of bluntness and kissed her forehead.

"Let's get you home for a nap then." she took the little girls hand and headed for the door. Her life was perfect.
