Chapter thirty four

Brennan woke to the smell of pancakes, she quickly brushed her hand over the cool surface of the bed that Booth recently occupied. Rubbing her eyes of the frail sleep, she pulled back the covers and smiled, the thought of waking up each morning to the smell of a wonderful breakfast melted her heart. The glance to the clock wasn't long but long enough to note the time; 6:34, Booth would be leaving for work soon.

She found her way to the bathroom and took care of her call of nature before making her way to the kitchen to find both Booth boys smiling proudly.

"Hey bones, good morning beautiful."

Booth wrapped a caressing arm around her back and kissed her lips lightly, Parker grinned at the interaction he desperately waited for.

"Good morning, Booth Parker. Is breakfast almost ready? I would like to take pie for a shower before you both leave."

Booth nodded as a sleepy piper obviously flushed her bathroom toilet, moments later the little pitter of tiny feet made there way to the kitchen.

"Mommy, daddy, parka."

Piper stood in the door way, looking very displeased with the sight in front of her.

"What is it baby?"

Brennan made her way to her daughter and bent to her knee high level.

"You didn't wakes me up!"

She rubbed the sleep from her eyes then promptly folded her arms over her chest, causing the kitchen to fill with a slight 'humh' of a laugh.

"I'm sorry pie, I though you might want to sleep in a little, beside mommy just woke up."

Booth tossed the last pancake onto the white glass plates that took a spot on the table. Brennan grabbed the little girl before her into a tight hug and kissed her forehead.

"Yes I did, but now that your up, good morning baby."

Brennan led the child to her rightful spot at the table to start off the Monday morning the right way.

The breakfast went by smoothly with little small talk, Brennan had spoke her plans if staying out if work until piper was ready to stay at the Jeffersonian daycare program. Booth had planned his lunch brake to be spent with his two eager girls. Parker on the other hand had no idea of what his week would plan out to be but he prayed it wouldn't be like past week, loads of homework and the school bully, Tony, and apparently spotted a new victim to strike. The new victim happened to be the new girl that didn't fit in with everyone, which made her the perfect target for bad boy Tony, which made Parker's blood boil.

The growing family split ways soon before 8:45, Parker had to be at school slightly before 9:00, along with Booth having to be at work at 9:30 on the dot.

Piper took her shower before saying bye to her daddy and the one known as parka.

Brennan currently stood at the door, caressing booths oddly smooth cheek.

"Have a great day booth, be careful please."

He pecked her lips and smiled when she nibbled on his bottom lip just a little, causing Parker to grin brightly. Piper had declared it time for her newly favored tv show 'the wiggles', she slowly dragged her mom to the living room after waving a slight wave and the blowing of a kiss to her almost adoptive father.

"Okay, pie. Is it the wiggles time?"

Piper nodded with a great big smile, she loved the colorful men that danced in the movie box, as piper had announced it to be at dinner a couple of nights ago.
The pair watched the dancers glide across the screen for about a hour before Brennan declared it time for a nap before the lunch break that was planned to be held at the park at 12:00.

Brennan guided piper to the bedroom that Booth and herself shared.

"Hey, baby do you want to take a nap with me in here?"

Piper nodded, she knew sleeping in the same bed as her mommy would make her sleep way better than sleeping in her bedroom alone. Brennan smiled and picked up the tiny figure to put her into the bed.

"Okay, now let's take a highly needed nap before we go meet daddy for lunch."

Brennan knew good and well that piper would be the only one sleeping, Brennan laid with her daughter merely for the benefit of being snuggled into Piper, for Temperance Brennan wasn't one for taking naps.

The little girls breathing evened out shortly after laying down, making Brennan smile proudly at the sight her daughter had become, the thought leaving her with the question of what her future will bring.
