Piper had been sleeping for over two hours now, Brennan wanted to keep the child on a schedule since she would need to get use to sleeping earlier than usual. Brennan walked to the door of the now turquoise room and smiled, there Piper was sound asleep cuddled up to her teddy that Booth had got her a couple of nights back.

Brennan couldn't bare waking the child up, she was just to precious when she slept. She crept up to the side of the bed and admired the child for a few moments. Before Brennan could possibly think about leaving, she noticed the child's brow furrow, Piper clenched her jaw and winced. She was having a bad dream, Brennan knowing that waking a nightmare barring child was dangerous in different ways, instead of waking her instantly she sat down on the bed and cooed her daughter, placing a hand on Pipers small forearm, she spoke quietly.

"Piper baby wake up!" Brennan was quite but urgent, she didn't like seeing Piper having a bad dream, it murdered her heart. Figuratively of course.

Piper wasn't waking up and Brennan was running out of cooing options. She decided she couldn't watch her daughter fight with the dreams any longer, she wrapped her arms around Pipers fail body and pulled her to her chest, Piper feeling the interaction woke instantly and clung to her mom.

"Baby. It's okay, I'm right here." Pipers breathing was uneven,

"Mommy!" the little girl screamed "i scared!" Brennan's heart sank futher into her chest.

"It's okay baby, mommys here. it was just a dream." Brennan was rocking her, the thought kept creeping into her mind; who was there to comfort her during a bad dream before Brennan. The thought was quickly pushed to the side as she heard a knock on the door.

"Baby, I'm sure that is Booth, do you want to go with me to let him in?" Brennan was going to leave Piper alone but she had to let Booth in because the door was locked, a recent habit since Piper had arrived.

"Daddy?"Piper asked at the familiar name that her mommy called her daddy.

Brennan smiled "yes, baby you want to?" The little girl nodded her approval and wrapped her arms around her mommys neck as they walked to the door.

Brennan peeked through the peep hole just for precaution, she smiled when she saw Booth standing tree with tai take out. She opened the door to a smiling Seeley Booth.

Booth smiled at Brennan then looks at the shooken up child in her arms. His frown show through his smile as his eyes locked on the frail child in his partners arms.

"Bones, what happened?" he stepped in knowing he was invited in with a silent look. He sat the food down on the table along with his car keys.

"She had a nightmare, again. I tried to wake her as soon as it happened but she wouldn't wake up." Brennan's eyes was watery as she remembered everything that happened earlier.

"Oh baby, come here," the little girl looked up as her daddy stretched his arms out to her. She looked to her mommy before, for approval, she leaned into her daddy as he wrapped his arms around her small body. "Did you have a bad dream baby?"

Piper nodded as she buried her head into his buff shoulder. "how about we go eat some supper then play a game? aye?"

She leaned her head up and smiled "really, can we mommy?" Brennan's face was broke out into a smile as she nodded to her foster/soon to be adopted daughter.

They ate the dinner booth had brought for them, rather fast. Mostly because it was pushing close to Pipers assigned bed time and they had promised a game before bed time.

"How about that game now?" Booth spoke as he carried all of their trash to the bin appointed for trash.

"Yay!" Pipers quite voice filled the kitchen area

They played the game 'Operation' for a while, before Pipers eyes started getting heavy. Tonight Brennan gave Booth the pleasure of putting Piper to bed.

"Can I bones, you don't mind?" booth asked grabbing ahold to the child that was asking to be lifted, Piper had made a surprising bounce back from what she had been when Brennan had first got her, aside from the nightmares, Piper had yet to wet the bed.

"Yes, I think Piper would like if you put her to bed, aye Pie?" Booth looked up at the use of a actual nickname for Piper.

"You call her pie?" His face was in a smile as he gave the thought of the anthropologist giving a nickname.

"I think it suits her don't you?" Brennan focused on the sleep child in her boyfriends arms.

Booth looked to the child. "I think it's perfect, I'm ashamed i didn't come up with it."

Brennan ducked her head trying to his her blush. "You can call her that too if you want."

"Are you sure bones, you're giving me permission for a lot of stuff tonight ."

"Yes booth she really looks to you as a father figure, even though I'm the one signing the adopting papers, you have as mush as a right to say and do the things I do." booth smiled at her excuse to let him do the same as her.

"Okay, I better get this little one to bed before she passes out in my arms." Brennan smiled at the girl and walked closer.

"Night baby, if you need me come to my bedroom okay?" the little girl nodded and Brennan kissed her crown.

"I love you." Brennan blurted out bluntly.

The little girl sat up and smiled "I love you too mommy." booth was smiling as the conversation of the two unfolded.

She watched as Booth carried the drowsy girl to her new bed room. She had planned on talking to Booth about the adoption tonight.

Booth returned with a smile plastered to his face.

"Hey, Booth can we talk?" his smile faded, could she be breaking things off with me? was the only thought going through his mind.

"Yea, of course. What's it about." booth looked nervous, she couldn't be braking up with him.

"The adoption, I'm going to file for it tomorrow." Booth breathed a sigh of relief. Thank God.

"Oh yea, that's great Bones, but you don't need to ask me if I'm okay with it, it's not my choice," he faintly smiled " I mean I really want you to adopt pie." He screamed a second later making sure she knew that he wanted her to adopt Piper.

"No, what I'm asking is, are you wanting to be her father?" Brennan was quite, she didn't know how he would react.

He basically ran to her. He wrapped his arms around Brennan's waist and pulled her into a deep kiss. "I would be honored to be able to be called daddy by Piper." He kissed her again.

All Brennan could do was smile. She was so happy! How could her life possibly get better? She had a wonderful boyfriend, a daughter that loved her, and a starting family. She couldn't ask for anything better.
