The ride back to Brennan's car was silent. The child in the back seat sat quietly, she didn't know where she was going all she knew is she didn't have to stay at the place that she was always getting punished. Booth pulled his SUV behind Brennan's silver car and jumped out. Brennan stayed in the car trying to coax Piper out, which didn't take much coaxing at all.
Piper had light blue eyes, much like her foster mothers, they could steal your heart the moment your eyes even glanced past hers. She had light brown hair, that was knotted up from weeks going without it being combed. Her small frail hands had scraps, probably defense wombs. Her foster mother examined her. "Is it okay if I take your seat belt off?" Brennan was gentle, she knew Piper was probably scared. Piper studied her surroundings and looked back to her foster moms eyes.
She nodded and raised her under weight arm and smiled. She unbuckled the seatbelt and pushed open the door. Booth stood by her door and helped her open it. She gave him a reassuring smile an motioned for him to step back at fear Piper would get scared again.
"Hey Piper, where going to go back to my car and then we are to my apartment. Is that okay?" Piper gave a slight nod. booth smiled the little girl that barley knew bones, was already warming up to her.
She picked Piper up and placed her on her hip. She turned back to booth and smiled.
"Thank you for coming with me Booth, I really appreciate it." he gave her a smile, "do you want to come over for dinner tonight? I have to run to the clothing store if you want to come. we can car pool in my car then I can drop you back here for you to grab your car. I understand if you can't." His smile grew and he looked at Piper who dug her head into Brennan's neck.
"Is it okay for for me to go, Piper?" he was quite and gentle with the fearful child.
She buried her head farther into her foster moms neck, she let a a sigh. Brenna glanced at booth and gave a apologetic smile.
"Sorry, but you are still invited for diner. If you are able to come of course." He smiled and nodded if didn't know if Hanna had any plans, if he did he would surly try to change them so he could visit bones and Piper tonight.
They split ways and heading in opposite directions.
Brennan arrived at the clothing store and smiled at Piper. "Are you ready to go?" Piper nodded quicker this time. Brennan knew that she was kinda afraid of booth. Hopefully that would change.
The opened the door to the store was instantly filled with joy at all the high priced pieces of fabric. Brennan didn't care about the prices, Piper didn't have many clothes and Brennan planned on buying all the clothes the little girl wanted. The little girl hung on to her caring foster mom and awed at the clothes lined along walls and hung up on racks.
"Okay Piper, we need to get some clothes. Do you see any you like?" Piper pointed to a rack with brightly colored dresses. Brennan walked over and looked at the sizes and picked the size that fit. They tried on all the stuff Piper liked then moved on to the shoes.
"What do shoes do you want?" she pointed at a pair of chocolate color chacos. Brennan picked the size that fit right and put it all on the counter. Her total ended up being well over one hundred dollars but it didn't matter to her. She put all the different bags in the trunk and buckled Piper into the back seat and smiled. "Are you ready to go home?"
Piper had yet to say one word since meeting the anthropologist until now "yes please." Brennan was a little tooken back by Pipers manners. She smiled and closed the door to the small silver car.
Booth arrived home to a annoyed Hanna. He had yet to explain his dispearance with the partner of him to his girlfriend. He was sick of explaining himself to her. It needed to end.
