Booth sat up on the lumpy couch. The night before had been spent watching loads of movie with bones. He stretched his now tensed back and stood only to be welcomed by a loud screech.

"BOOTH!" the little girl speed around the side of the couch into his unsteady legs.

"Woah hang on babe. What's the matter?" he bent down to the short size of the small child.

"I just excited you here. Did you come from a bad place and the nice lady in the room save you too?" Her voice was panting. She had just meet the man in front of her and she already was excited to see him.

"Piper, where are you?" Brennan's motherly voice was ringing through the slightly cramped house. Piper jumped into booths arm and start whimpering.

"She's in here, bones." he hollered back. "Piper baby why are you crying?"

Through the faint sound of crying the only words booth could make out was "she mad. I'm gonna get anuther booboo now" booth shifted her to where he could face her.

"No one is mad at you sweety, you aren't gonna get hit. shhh stop crying." He gently rocked the small child in his arm. Brennan walked in the room and frowned, why was Piper crying?

"Piper baby, what happened?" she walked faster toward the scene she was witnessing.

"Bones, she's fine. She thought you were yelling at her, she thought she was in trouble." Brennan's eyes where swelling with tears, the thought her voice being raised to a medium amount scared her foster child, made her heart melt.

Brennan crouched down next to the pair and held her arms out, signaling for the upset child to come into her arms. The little girl was hesitant but quickly complied. Brennan rested her self on the cold floor next to booth, Piper in her arms still whimpering slightly. Boot placed his arm around Pipers back, Brennan's arm not to far from his. The two cooed the little girl back to the natural three year olds state.

They decided on a light breakfast to restart the day. They had a busy day planned and needed to start as soon as able.

"Hey Piper, what color do you want to paint your new room?" it was the second day that Brennan had had the child, but Booth could see on her face this child was what was going to make Brennan happier, and that's what she needed. Brennan wanted the decision of what color, the newly brought home three year olds room would be painted to be completely decided by Piper.

"I dunno.." she was quite with her response, Brennan had noticed the little girl was uneasy from what had tooken place earlier that morning. The sun was shining on the fine Saturday, the child didn't need to be upset on such a day like this.

Brennan stood up and walked over to Pipers side of the table. "How about today you and me go look at some colors then you can decide?" the little girl looked up at her foster mom and furrowed her brow

"Can Boof come too?" Piper had bits of fruit loops in her mouth making Brennan smile at the mispronunciation of her partners name

Brennan looked up at Booth and smiled "of course, Booth can be our heavy lifting man, if he wants to." Booths smile spread across his face

"I would love too, but I do need to change my clothes. These smell like BO." Brennan's face had this confused state to it, Pipers face resembled her foster moms. "Body oder." he explained.

"Oh well I have some sweat pants that belonged to Russ when he stayed a while ago and a hockey tee shirt that some how ended up in my wash a couple of months back, I think it might be orange and black maybe." Her brows furrowed in frustration.

Booths eyes bugged out, nearly enough to fall out of his head, literarily or course. "That my shirt bones! I've been looking for that shirt for ever! how did you get it though?" his face was still shocked and Piper was just all confused about the whole situation.

"Really? it's been here for a while." She stood from her position, and walked to the door. "I'll go grab it, watch her for me?"

"Yea, oh and I have to pick up a few things before I leave the store today if that's okay." She smiled at his assurance of her ride to the store.

"Yes it's alright with me Booth, now I'm going to get changed do you mind taking care of the dishes?" she had no problem asking him of the light favor, but was still a little hesitant just incase he said no.

"Yea yea sure. I'll get right on it." He smiled and lifted his plate along with the others. He glanced at Piper with her milk covered face, he felt his smile grow wider as the little girls face grew with demples. He knew from that day on this little girl was going to be a big artifact to his life, even if bones didn't ever accepted his love he knew the little girl know as Piper Jane would.
