Best friend

Everyone always thought that Hui was the closet to Hyojong, I mean being in two groups together everyone sorta put them together. They were both told that the fans liked them together so from then on they should be more touchy and close with each other on camera, so that's what they did.

But off camera that wasn't the case, I mean yes they were best friends but they weren't like that towards each other. It was actually Shinwon who was the closest to Hyojong, they were practically the same person. They were both funny and strange, willing to do anything to make the members happy. Both of their personalities lead them to become inseparable.

They spend every second off camera together, countless nights spent laughing at dumb jokes and videos, only for them to be silently cuddled
together seconds later. Backstage they laughed and played dumb little games, behind the scenes of their music videos they would run around and play at the place of their shoot.

So when the members were told they would no longer be ten but stay as a group of nine, all the members couldn't help but to break down into sad tears and choked sobs. They couldn't even be nine because Yanan was sick, they felt as if they are just losing members. For a few days no one said anything, they couldn't bring themselves to words. The dorms were sad and quiet, the only noise being the movement of members and the quiet sobs.

But it was only a few days when the members pulled themselves together, trying to be their bright happy selves. They had too, they were in the middle of promoting their comeback, they couldn't be upset anymore.

For Shinwon it was just harder, he tried so hard to fill the void in everyone's heart. He tried to make jokes and be dumb to make his members smile, but he just couldn't.

One night he found himself unable to sleep once again, he listened to the soft sounds kino made as he somehow peacefully slept. He stared at the ceiling, tears brimming his eyes threatening to fall. When he decided he needed to go to the one person who can help him.

He quietly got out of bed, trying not to wake up kino knowing he'd get worried and bombard him with endless questions. He walked down the hall to the room that Hui has to himself.

He softly knocked on the door waiting for Hui to answer. Hui opened the door quickly looking up and down Shinwon before pulling him inside. 

"H-Hyung I-"

"Shh Shh, I know it's okay" Hui pulled Shinwon to his bed, allowing the younger boy to cry into his shoulder as he wrapped his arms around Shinwon's frail lanky body.

He rubbed soothing circles onto his back and whispered calm reassuring words into Shinwon's ear. The younger boy seemed oddly small and fragile as he held him, almost like he could break him at any moment.

When he felt the younger had finally calmed down and his breathing settled, he pulled away to look him in the face. Arms on both of his shoulders.

"Shinwon? Can you tell me what exactly is wrong?" He held the younger's chin and gently pulled his face up to look at him in the eyes.

"I- I just m-miss h-him so much and I-i don't k-know why." He hiccuped as a few more tears slid down his cheeks. Hui moved his hands to cup Shinwon's small face and used his thumbs to wipe away the tears.

" I know Shinwon, it's hard we all miss him so much. But there's nothing we can do anymore, it's only going to get better from here."

" Promise?" His voice was small and almost inaudible.

"I promise." He could feel his own tears rising up from his eyes while looking at Shinwon.

"I think you should sleep, we have to get up early tomorrow."

"C-can I please sleep with you hyung?" Shinwon asked quietly looked at his leader with watery eyes.

"Yes, come on." He pulled Shinwon into the bed, wrapping his arms around him letting the younger rest his head on his shoulder.

"Go to sleep Shinwon okay?" He whispered kissing the top of his head.

"I-I love you hyung." Shinwon whispered into his neck.

"I love you too."
