Toe first, then heel.

Roll your foot out smoothly and it'll make less noise.

He cringes as a bunch of leaves crunch beneath his foot, meeting eyes with a deer as it stands at attention, looking at him before it's eyes dilate.

"Fuck."

He shakes his head, watching as the deer leaps out of view, heading deeper into the forest.

"I literally suck at this." 

He continues forward, still trying to be quiet but failing quite miserably.

He comes to stop at the base of a tree, the large oak's diameter being wider than any he's ever seen.

He circles around the base, looking high up into the tree's branches as he inhales deeply.

"Mmpf-"

He jumps back, immediately drawing his knife as he looks down at his feet, a small- thing... curled up on the ground.

Using his toe, he tucks the tip underneath the body, pulling upwards to flip it onto its back.

He gasps as the small boy lets out a soft whine of distress, immediately attempting to curl up once more but being too weak to do so.

Guilt overwhelms Byeongkwan as he quickly scoops up the small boy, cradling him rather tightly as he tucks his frail body slightly into his own jacket.

The scent of prey wafts heavily off of the incapacitated boy, side effect of being outside for however long he was.

"Don't worry, I've got you now."

The boy awoke with a start a little over 2 weeks after Byeongkwan found him.

Since then he had been nursing and hand feeding the boy, attempting to regain some weight back onto the boy in between hunting.

After a few hours of hunting large predator hybrids he had come home to find the boy sniffling and crying, completely asleep but radiating fear so extreme Byeongkwan didn't stop holding him for hours.

Life had been quiet in his house the entire time the boy was asleep, Byeongkwan deciding to keep him in his own bed rather than the floor or the couch.

It was at the moment he awoke and began to slip out of the bed that the boy had suddenly jerked awake.

Shooting up into a sitting position as his eyes and head dart around in every direction before quickly landing on him as he leaps out of the bed.

He lands silently on the hardwood in front of his door and Byeongkwan can't help but admire how absolutely silent he was especially with a squeaky floorboard being what he was standing on.

"Hey, how'd you do that?"

The boy's eyes widen, his pupils dilating extremely as his pupils grow to make up almost his entire eye.

"W-who are you?"

His body shakes uncontrollably, his knees pressed together and his right hand placed gently on the door handle.

Byeongkwan takes a step forward, watching as the boy tenses.

"My name is Byeongkwan, I found you in the woods very injured and brought you home."
