Ballon

"Is this really necessary?"

Renjun wiggled his arm around watching as the ballon attaches to his wrist followed.

"Of course, now it will never happen again."

They decided to go on a date at an amusement park and so far it hasn't been ideal. They hadn't expected there to be so many people this time of year, but here they were buying a ballon so they don't get separated and lost in the crowd again.

"Go walk into the big crowd and I'll try and find you!"

"This is a terrible idea."

Nonetheless Renjun squeezed his way through the crowd. Lucas watched as his tiny boyfriend disappeared into the swarm of people. The orange ballon bopping around as he tugged it along. He smiled to himself for his genius idea before going to his boyfriend.

"See it's perfect!"

"Okay sure let's just go now."

Renjun grabbed his taller boyfriends hand and pulled him along.

...

"Pfft."

Renjun swatted the ballon away from his face for what felt like the hundredth time that day. He really didn't feel like the ballon was needed, they could just hold hands.

"Stay here, I'm going to the bathroom."

"Okay have fun."

Renjun watched as Lucas walked farther away from him to the bathroom. His eyes wandered around the area of the park they were in.

He spotted a hat that he remembered Lucas pointing out when they walked past it earlier today. He figured he could be a good boyfriend and surprise him with it.

Without second thought he skipped over to the store entrance. He wandered around a bit looking at the shelves before buying the hat. He smiled happily at his purchase and left the store.

Before he knew it he was surrounded by a large crowd of swiftly moving people. He quickly squeezed his way through the people in the direction he last remembered the bathroom was.

After hitting a few people with the balloon still attached to his wrist on accident. He finally felt like he could breathe.

What he didn't realize was that by brushing past so many people, the string connecting the balloon to his wrist had been slowly worn away till a thin piece was the only thing connecting them together.

As soon as he felt relief from the lack of people, panic spread through him as he broke into a cold sweat, lifting his eyes skyward he gazed sadly at the balloon drifting higher and higher into the sky.

His legs shakes slightly as he spins in slow circles, attempting to look above the crowd to spot the boy.

He becomes worried when his eyes scan over only strangers, a light tap bringing him out of his panic.

Renjun practically jumps out of his skin, whirling around to face the smiling face of his boyfriend.

He lunges forward, wrapping his arms around Lucas's torso and burying his face in his chest.

"D-don't ever leave me a-again."

He sniffles, his fingers tightening their grip on Lucas's shirt.

Soft pats grace Renjun's back as Lucas wraps his arms around the boy.

"Don't worry, next time we can pee together."

Laughter bubbles up through Lucas's chest as he watches Renjun stomp away, arms crossed and a pout on his face.
