Leggo
"Go ahead sweetie, mommy will be back to get you okay? Now go play." She softly pushed little Yanan forward and into the brightly colored kindergarten class. Yanan glanced around before quickly running back to his mother, he didn't want to be here he wanted to play with his mommy. The four year old hugged his mother's leg and hid his face in her thigh. A hand softly brushed through his fluffy hair followed by a small sigh.
"Yanannie, sweetie I promise to be back before you know it. Then we can color and play all you want when we get home!" Yanan looked up at his mother with a pout, she better make him chicken nuggets for dinner to make up for this.
"Promise?" He held up his small pinky finger. She looped her finger into his and bent down to place a soft kiss onto his forehead.
"I promise."
"Okay, bye mommy I love you!" He let go of her leg and waved at her.
"Love you, see you soon." She waved back as she walked away.
Yanan watched her walk away for awhile before turning back around to the very bright class room. He jumped back when he was met with a small boy with wide eyes and black fluffy hair standing incredibly close to him.
"Hi your mommy has a pretty face! Oh, you do too! My name is Changgu and I'm four years old, I turn five on March 27th, my favorite color is yellow, I really like frogs, and I want you to be my friend! Can you? Pretty please!"
The boy -Changgu- seemed to talk a mile -a-minute and he couldn't stay still either. He bounced up and down while holding Yanan's arm in anticipation.
"O-okay we can be friends, my name is Yanan and I'm also four." He smiled down at the possibly older boy.
"Oh yay good! We can be best friends forever. Come on Yanannie let's go play!" He pulled Yanan to a corner that had LEGO's scattered all around. Changgu simply plopped down sitting crisscross-applesauce on the floor and began ramming the toys together.
"W-wait where do I put my stuff?" He held up his small green backpack.
"Oh come this way!" Changgu bounced back up and ran while grabbing Yanan's hand- again- all the way to the back wall that had little cubby's aligning it. He pulled him to a empty cubby that was next to a very full cubby.
"This is my cubby, and that one can be yours since we are bestest friends we have to always be next to each other." He said while pointing to his supposed cubby. Changgu's cubby was overflowing with coloring pages and toys. His frog printed backpack was hanging out a bit and his yellow lunch box was haphazardly thrown in at the bottom.
"Oh okay then!" He smiled and hung his little bag on the hook in the middle of the cubby, he quickly took out his lunch box and put it at the bottom too.
"Okay okay! Let's go go go! Come quickly!" Changgu once again pulled him by his arm all the way back to the LEGO corner.
The two four year olds played for a while longer. Changgu was being hyper and very enthusiastic as always, while Yanan was quietly playing and adding some commentary to make the other boy happy.
Days similar to this continued for the rest of the year seemingly lasting forever and as they grew they only seemed to get closer and closer.
A few years passed since Yanan had met Changgu and one day he got up the nerve to finally confess the feelings he's contained since he met Changgu in kindergarten.
Yanan had discreetly guided Changgu to their old kindergarten playing it off as a unconscious decision as he pretends to act surprised. "Look Changgu, it's our old kindergarten." Changgu's eyes widen slightly as he takes in the now rundown, abandoned building.
"Oh wow, good thing we graduated before this happened." He smiles at Yanan eyeing the building curiously. Yanan diverts his eyes looking at the ground. What he sees genuinely surprises him, hidden in the dirt is a little blue LEGO. He picks it up, rubbing the dirt off with his thumb, he uncovers a pair of dull initials.
He tilts his head to the side managing to make out a poorly written 'Y' and 'C'. He gasps, it's the same LEGO him and Changgu had marked when they were in kindergarten. The fact that it had survived this long and still bore the marks of Yanan and Changgu's early friendship is enough to make Yanan smile brighter than ever.
He slowly turns, the LEGO closed in his fist. "Hey Changgu, remember when you said we would be best friends forever?" Changgu turns towards him.
"Yeah, why?" He looks at him curiosity and innocence written all over his face.
Yanan diverts his eyes once again, squeezing in the LEGO. "I don't want to be best friends anymore... I want to be more than just friends."
He looks up just in time to see Changgu before he smashes his lips onto his.

Woah okay so I'm so sorry that this took so long to publish I wrote at least half of it but then life threw state testing and exams in my face and I put off finishing it. But thanks to my friend Emily I was able to publish this because she finished the second half of the story, she's so good at writing it's not fair. Anyway I hope this was good enough and I surprised you :)
