DIGGY’S P.O.V.

*three years later*

Tinashe- Come on Shenae, please..

Shenae- *pushes the plate away* No, I don’t want your stupid food *gets up from the table*

Diggy- Shenae, sit down here now

Shenae- *looks at him* No, I won’t! I’m not gonna eat her food, I’m not gonna listen to her and I’m not gonna act like she’s mom’s replacement and I should be happy with it

Diggy- Sit at the table or you’re grounded.

Shenae- *shrugs* It’s better than sitting here with her *glares at Tinashe* *goes to her room and slams her door*

Diggy- *sighs and plays with his food* I’m sorry

Tinashe- *fakes a smile* it’s nothing.. *drinks her wine* That’s just how she is I guess.. *looks down*

It’d been three years. Since that sign from Y/N, I decided to pursue things with Tinashe and it was great. But the only thing that threatened our relationship was Shenae. She hated Tinashe and did since we got together. She felt somewhat left out and unimportant and I could never get them to get along, no matter how hard Tinashe tried, I could tell it was upsetting her.

SHENAE’S P.O.V.

Diggy- *knocks on the door*

Shenae- Go away..

Diggy- *walks in* Shay

Shenae- I don’t wanna talk to you

Diggy- You gonna talk to Tinashe?

Shenae- *rolls eyes* Why would I even talk to her?

Diggy- *sits on her bed* You gotta stop being so hard on her Shay, it’s been too long

Shenae- Because I don’t like what you’re doing

Diggy- What? Being with Tinashe?

Shenae- No. You’re trying to replace mom. Tryin to forget her

Diggy- I’m not..

Shenae- When was the last time the two of us visited her grave together?

Diggy- *falls silent* *looks away*

Shenae- Sometimes, I just go on my own to see her because you’re too busy.. and you haven’t been at all

Diggy- Shay..

Shenae- No, dad. You’re too caught up with your new girlfriend that you’ve forgotten what’s important. What you promised me at her funeral that you’d never let us forget her and here you are, already breaking that promise

Diggy- *looks down* I’m sorry.

Shenae- *sighs* I’m leaving for camp in the morning, can you leave me to sleep?

Diggy- *nods and goes to the door* *stops* *turns around and looks at her*

Shenae- *gets into her bed*

Diggy- *walks over and kisses her head* I love you.. and I’m sorry

Shenae- It doesn’t even matter. Because you’re gonna forget this conversation happened, go in your room and sit in your bed with her like everything’s perfect *looks away*

Diggy- *looks at her* *leaves*

Shenae- *gets up and goes in her drawer* *pulls out a box*

This is where I kept the special things close to my heart. It was a bunch of photos in here that meant the world to me. Not just any photos.. but memories. When I was born and mom was holding me, when we all went to Thailand and I rode an elephant when I was four.
