The four of us got jump scared and spun around. It was Ava. She still had on the same clothes from yesterday, and a portion of her face, including her red eye, was covered by some of her hair. We could only see her blue eye, part of her nose, and her mouth...which was turning to a smirk.

"Did I scare you all?" she said softly. "I am sorry. I did not mean to."

"Ava?" Margie spoke to her. "What are you doing here?"

"What am I doing here? What are you doing here?"

I was about to tell her, but I bit my lip - on purpose.

Should we tell her? Could we actually trust her?

"We are going to research," Gretel commented.

"Ah. There is nothing like researching things that matter." Her grin grew wide, and we could get a glimpse of her teeth. "So what are you researching?"

"Like you said. Things that matter," Nigel said.

"Let me guess. You all did not sleep good last night and are looking for answers as to what this whole fictional nonsense is about."

Margie, Nigel, Gretel, and I became surprised.

"Yes..." I finally spoke. "...how did you know that?"
