Two weeks pass.
"A war?" I exclaim, I look over to Frank. He is as dazed as I am.
"You're both being deployed, Allison cleared you from the virus. Frank will be going to Paris in France, since that's where we keep all the new borns safe. We must save our race for if anything goes south.'"
"Woah, slow your roll. Why is there a war in the first place?" Frank asks, enfolding my hand tightly and swindles the silver ring on my finger.
I smile as I look down at my ring. Headmaster glares at me, making my smile fade away.
"The werewolves have declared war after we retrieved you two from them. We've been expecting this, for a long time now."
"Why? It's all suppose to be over, I'm a vampire now. Why do they want a war?" Frank asks.
"It's been working it's way to the surface for a while now."
"Wont it affect the mortals?" I ask causally.
"They're so hooked on their cellphones they wont even know. Even if they did, they wont notice. Everything happens underground, in the dark. Our advantage. We can't stand risk any supernatural kind to be known. It will be Doomsday." Headmaster says, taking an old thick book out of his bookshelf, "The previous war happened centuries ago. The Vampirics won and the werewolves lost many of their troops to useless war tactics. We on the other hand have more advantage."
"Gerard will surely be coming with me, right?" Frank looks over to me, "He has to come with me."
"No, I won't. I've been a vampire long enough to be useful on the battlefield." I say coldly and let go of Frank's hand.
Frank looks at me, he shakes his head in despair. He wants to protest but I softly shush him.
"He is going to be deployed to Germany first thing in the morning."
"No, no, no. Please no. I'll go, just don't send him. I have a lot more to offer, I was a werewolf and I.. please don't send him. If anything happens to him-
"I'm sorry Mr. Iero," Headmaster give Frank a dejected look, "It's already done. I advise you to say your goodbyes tonight. It maybe the last time you see him." Headmaster shows us to the door and slams it behind us.
"So, my opinion in this horrid situation doesn't fucking matter?" Frank say folding his arms in anger.
"I don't have a choice, Frank." I yell thoughtlessly at Frank.
The entire hall goes quiet. I put my face in my hand.
"I'm sorry," I whisper, trying holding Frank's hand.
He pulls it away and it his pocket, like he normally does when he's upset. I put my hands on his shoulders and make him face me. He tries not to make eye contact with me, trying not to show me he is crying.
"Oh Frank," I hold him in my arms, embracing him tightly. "It will be okay, I promise."
Frank softly sobs in my arms, I rest my head on his while cradling him tightly.
"You can't promise me that," He cries and sobs again.
I rest my head on his head as he inters his face on my rib cage. I caress his cheek with my finger. We just stand there in silence.
"It will be okay. I have someone to go home to."
"After all of this shit; promise me..." Frank trails off.
"Promise you what Frankie?" I whisper and kiss his forehead.
"You've never called me that before." Frank laughs, but I know it is just to make the mood better.
