Author has recently become obsessed with sea of theives so if any of you wanna get a boat i could use a crew.

Jk Minnesota isnt anywhere near the ocean.

I stood up on the crows nest of my ship, the rest of the crew beginning to awaken below and gradually come up.

This was my usual job as lookout, and i stayed up here most of the day watching for any danger.

However, one pirate spotted something and threw nets overboard, apparently catching fish.

A bell was rang below, signalling my break and i put my feet up and feel asleep until...

"Hey crow! Come see this!" One of my crewmates yelled. They called me crow due to my usual post in the nest and my love for shiny objects.

And after i was given the nickname, they tattooed two crows wings on my shoulders to symbolize it.

That hurt a lot.

I carefully jumped down the last ladder rungs, and strolled over to the crew who was gathered around one of the giant kegs they had sliced in half and emptied to be a makeshift tub.

Inside i saw four mermaids, each with a vibrant tail of a different color. Red, green, blue and purple.

They all appeared to be either scared or pissed off, but thats understandable have a nice day.

Their eyes (and one pair of solid black ones) locked onto me as soon as i approached and stood with the crew. most likely due to the fact i was the only girl onboard besides themselves.

The green one wore a seaweed top that matched her tail, and has brown hair tied back in a low ponytail. Her eyes are brown and shes a little chubby but looks the least dangerous.

The next wore a purple, worn and faded top probably made by a human judging by the design. She had ginger hair with a ribbon tied in the top and blue eyes with lots of freckles.

The blue wore a checkered top and blue neck tie, with solid black eyes and brown hair tied into a gravity defying ponytail.

And the last one had a red torn top that looked like a soldiers and had caramel hair styled into two horns and continued down her back. She had silver eyes.

All of them took an interest to me, looking at me instead of glaring at my other crewmates.

"Alright, its settled that we will cut our voyage a little short to return to mainlain and sell these creatures to the highest bidders in the market, and then we get drunk!" The captain announced with a grin.

The others cheered wildly, while the mermaids looked horrified.

"Crow, keep watch over them for the night and make sure no enemy ships come to steal our prizes." The csptain grinned and the crew left to drink and party.

I looked at the mermaids, and sat criss cross in front of the empty half-keg they currently resided in.

"Im... sorry for what they're gonna do to you." I murmured.

The four of them were leaning to look at me inquisitively.

"Why?" Asked the black eyed brunette.

"Why are you sorry? Shouldnt you be happy youre making money off us?" She asked, staring at me.

"I feel bad because i didnt join this crew, i got kidnapped as a child." I responded, all of them looked shocked.

"And even though they kidnapped me, they're like my family and i dont know where i would be without them." I sighed fondly.
