(Jo's POV)

Hero hasn't said much to me this week after I told him that I'm pregnant. I guess the idea of 'we will talk about it later' went out the window.

I was currently curled up the cold tile of the bathroom floor, trying to regain my composure after throwing my guts up. I hadn't truly embraced the fact that I was pregnant until now, after suffering through morning sickness. I remember hearing stories from friends or mothers about how awful it was.

I guess now I know.

I hear a soft knock on the door, and I groan in response. Hero opens the door slightly and peeks his head in. "Are you alright?"

I nod, not responding. I hated that he wasn't in here holding my hair up, rubbing my back, or saying comforting things to me.

But I've embraced the probability that Hero wants absolutely nothing to do with this child. Or me, for that matter. If this was the game that he wanted to play, then so be it.

When he opens the door wider to come in, I notice that he's holding a cup of water and a small bowl. He takes a seat on the floor next to me and hands me the water and the bowl, which was filled with dry Frosted Flakes. We had come to love that cereal because of how often we would eat it on set.

"You should try and eat something." Hero encourages softly.

"Why? I'll just end up throwing it all back up." I growl.

"I don't know," he shrugs. "I read somewhere that it's good to eat something to get into your system, so you don't feel as nauseous."

I look at him with a blank expression. "Wow. Look at you. Doing your research."

"Well, I figured if this is really happening, I might as well know how to deal with it."

"How to 'deal with it'. I see." I roll my eyes. After attempting to stand up, another wave of nausea overcomes me causing my knees to buckle.

Hero catches me and holds me up by my waist. "Be careful, Jo."

"I want to lay down." I gush.

He nods and picks me up bridal style before carrying me out of the bathroom. This is the only affection I've gotten from him all week, and it weakened me even further.

Hero places me down gently in the bed before pulling the covers up over me. "Are you going to be alright while I'm out?"

"Where are you going?" I ask, even though I knew he wouldn't answer.

"Just out." See?

"Whatever." I huff and turn away from him.

"Jo," He sighs, touching my shoulder.

I jerk away from him. "Just go."

He doesn't argue. Instead, I hear his footsteps echo throughout the apartment until the front door closes.

I know it's only been a week, but Hero and I should've talked about this by now. I needed him more than ever and he was pushing me away.

Maybe he was right.

A baby was only going to make things worse.

I hear my phone vibrating and I turn over, feeling a burst of excitement at the thought of it being Hero. But my face falls when I see that it was my sister instead.

"Hello?"

"Hey! I figured we could catch up today. Do you want to come by the apartment and have some girl time?"
