Ireneia's POV
When we finally arrived at our stop, me and Fritzaled remained glued together. Maybe what happened between me and Helios helped because it brought me back to this girl clinging really tight on my arms.
"Do snakes lurk around here?" Inosenteng tanong nito habang nakatingin sa bukana ng kagubatan kung saan kami itinigil ng T-Rex.
Nice.
"I believe snakes lurks around every where." Malamig na sabi ko bago naglakad na papasok sa gubat. Nakakawit parin sa braso ko si Fritzale kaya tinawag ko muna si Copper para ilayo muna sya saakin dahil who knows what might come in this journey. We all need to be prepared.
And one more thing, I also missed working alone.
"You know what Helios. I really missed working with you. You should accept Commander's offer. You are a big asset to my team. Surely, we'll be undefeatable." Bahagya akong natigilan dahil sa sinabi ng babaeng Heneral kay Helios. Nasa likod ko lang sila and I know that they've noticed my sudden halting but I'm too caught off guard to care.
He's being offered to transfer sa Alta Guild pero wala man lang syang sinasabi saamin?
"Bakit kailangan mo pang pag-isipan?" Painosenteng tanong muli ni Aleina kay Helios.
Bahagya ko silang nilingon.
And there I met his eyes. It's full of emotions but my eyes remained cold and emotionless.
"Kapag inaccept mo ang offer I will step down on being the general and make you replace me." Daldal muli nya. I looked away and continued walking but stopped on my track again for the second time when I felt something odd around us.
It's like someone's eyeing us.
Natigil din silang lahat sa paglalakad at nakiramdam sa paligid.
"What the hell? Why are we stopping? It's delaying our mission. We need to continue walking or~" hindi na nya naituloy ang sinasabi nya ng ihagis ko malapit sakanya ang dagger na nasa hita ko.
That shut her up dahil halos isang hibla na lang ang layo ng blade ng kutsilyo mula sa ilong nya. Kung gumalaw sya ay baka sya ang tinamaan ng blade, but too bad I'm an accurate shooter.
Nakatusok sa puno na nasa likod nila ang isang ahas na kanina ay tutuklawin na sana ang babaeng heneral kung hindi ko lamang ito napansin agad at nabigyang atensyon.
"Surely snakes know their species huh? You're welcome by the way. Too dense for a general. Helios would be glad too replace you, right Hel?" Malamig na sabi ko bago sila tinalikuran at naglakad na papasok sa gitna ng gubat. I badly want this mission to be done so I can no longer see their faces anymore.
"That was really cool." Said a voice bago ako nito sinabayan sa paglalakad.
"I'm Ezekiel by the way, you can call me Zeke or whatever you want. An endearment perhaps?" Pagpapakilala nya but I'm too damned to even care kaya hindi ko sya pinansin.
"Ohhh kay? So I assume you talk less?" He said habang patawa-tawa pa.
"And I assume you don't" tanging nasabi ko na lang bago muling nagmasid sa paligid.
