chapter 20

Shawn's POV

{present day}

Camila just stared at me with tears rolling down her cheeks.

There was a long silence.

"I'm sorry." She said and stormed out of the room whilst wiping her tears away. She never looked back.

That's it? She chooses Anthony over me even after everything he's done? She still believes him and not me? After all we've been through, that's how it all ends?

I groaned and pulled at my hair. I started pulling the wires off of me, causing the heart monitor to go flat.

I tried getting up but a strong pain shot up my back making me fall back into the bed. I groaned even louder.

A doctor and nurse came rushing in, followed by Dad and Hailey. They tried to calm me down.

"How can she do this to me?" I shouted. "She left. She just left."

"Shawn it's okay. Calm down please." Hailey was scared. She tried to hold my hand in hers but I pushed it away.

"Nothing's okay. Nothing is!" I screamed.

"Give me the syringe quickly." The doctor told the nurse and they proceeded to drug me until my body weight began pulling me down and the world around me went dark.

I woke up after however long and looked around the room. It was empty. I looked up at the ceiling and a drop of water fell on my face, making me twitch. I wiped a finger across my face and got rid of the liquid.

I looked up again to investigate where the water was coming from, but the water drops began falling quicker.

Pretty soon water began pouring into the room from all directions and the room began flooding. I climbed off the bed and pounded my fists against the locked door.

"Is someone out there? Hello?" I shouted but no one could hear me.

"Shawn?" I heard Camila's cry.
"Mila?" I looked around the room for her but it only confused me when I couldn't locate her anywhere in the room.

"Shawn." Her voice got closer.
"Where are you?" I said with panic in my voice as the water continued to rise above my knees.

"Shawn!" Two hands grabbed my legs from underneath me and pulled me down with them. I fell into an endless pit filled with water, that I didn't know was there.

I couldn't breathe anymore. I was drowning.

I tried swimming upwards but there was no end to the water. I kept pushing my legs until I didn't have the stamina anymore.

"Shawn." Camila's faint voice rang again. I looked around for her but she was nowhere to be seen. My lungs started giving in, and I began falling.

When I opened my eyes again I was lying on the floor of a rooftop, with a clear view of the sky. I was flabbergasted at the sight.

The sky was a mixture of a lot of colours, there were specks of blue and purple and pink and orange. Then I noticed the Sun and the Moon sitting right next to each other, but they were awfully bigger than usual. A shiver ran down my spine. This isn't normal, where am I?

"Shawn." Camila's voice called me again.
"Camila where are you? Why can't I see you?" I began shouting frustratedly.

"What do you mean? I'm right here." Camila knelt down beside me and stroked my hair making me forget that I was in this strange world.
