Between Yemen and Oman, there lived people of AD. The people were well building and very muscular. They were well known for the construction they made with towers. Among all the nations they were very powerful and wealthy. These people were very arrogant of there power and wealth. They had a ruler a dictator who did an injustice. No one could raise a voice against him. People of Ad believed in Allah and worshiped him but they also worship other gods and idol. It was the greatest sin.
To guide those people Allah sent prophet Hud(AS). He was very strong and tolerant. He was the third or fourth generation after Noah (AS). Prophet Hud(AS) was telling people not to worship the stone idols which were made by there own hands. He requested his people to only worship Allah (SWT). They refused to listen to him. They thought he had other motives behind this. They thought he wanted payment from them for there to call. But prophet Hud(AS) only wanted them to walk on the right path. Hud(AS) tried to speak to them and to explain Allah's (SWT) blessing. strength and power Allah had given them, Hud's people looked around them and found them they were the strongest on the earth. They became prouder.
When prophet Hud said that people will be turned to dust and resurrected on the day of judgment they started laughing at him and said his claim was funny. People did not believe in the day of judgment. They thought it was all lie. They listen to him but did not believe him.
They question him why Allah choose one of them to reveal his message. Prophet Hud(AS) reminded them about the history of Noah( AS) and the Arc. He reminded them how all of the disbelievers were destroyed no matter how strong they were.
They question him who would destroy them. Hud(AS) said Allah (SWT) will destroy them if they dod not follow his message. They thought they would be saved by there gods. Hud(AS) reminded them that gods the believed would be the reason of there destruction.
