(Trigger Warning:  Language.)

(Missi's POV)

Brittany and I fixated on Michael's body lying on the floor motionless.

'I think he's dead.' I said in horror.

'We can hope. I always wanted to do swing an axe like that, and now I actually have.' Brittany said unaffectedly, as if nothing happened that warranted concern.

'We need to get out of here! Michael said the things that happen in this house stay in this house...like Vegas.' I said in a panic.

'Let's get out of here.' She said dropping the axe.

I grabbed her arm and we rushed out of the study.

'I'm texting Jared that we need to leave immediately because you just became violently ill.'

'That's subtle, since the truth would be a little more shocking. Slow down and look calm so no one suspects anything.' I said as we approached the main room.

'This is a hell of a time to tell me to blend. I feel like Colonel Mustard in the library with a wrench from the game 'Clue'. Brittany said.

'I think you mean Miss Scarlet in the study with an axe.' I said as we tried our best to look nonchalant.

Jared was waiting with a nervous-faced Shannon a few steps away.

'Miss are you okay?' He asked.

'I'm not feeling well and I'm having trouble breathing.' I replied, which wasn't far from the truth.

'Let's go then.' Shannon said taking my arm.

'You don't too good either. Are you okay?' Jared asked Brittany.

'I will be once you get me out of here.' She replied.

Luckily it didn't take long for the limo to arrive at the main entrance, and Jared told the driver to hurry because we weren't feeling well.

'Do you think it was something you ate that made you sick? How's your breathing now?' Shannon asked.

Jared seemed oddly unaffected, which made me wonder if he'd known ahead of time who we might see. I tried pushing the thought of him using me as bait to the back of my mind, but the thought of him doing so made me gag.

'Pull over!' I yelled, and the driver slammed on the brakes.

I jumped out and ran to the guardrail, retching over it into the darkness. Soon everyone but the driver was standing outside the car watching. Shannon and Brittany were at my side, while Jared stood back. He looked somewhat ill now as well.

'Try and hold it together until we get back. We don't want the driver to think there's more wrong than what there is.' Brittany whispered in my ear.

'I think I'll be fine now. Maybe it was something I ate.' I said trying to compose myself and pretend everything was fine.

'I think you had yourself too worked up about this party thing.' Shannon said soothingly as we got back in the limo.

'You may be right.' I said with half a smile.

'Probably the snails.' Brittany said with a sly look.

'Let's not go there.' I said feeling nauseated by just the thought of them.

The rest of the drive was quiet, with only an occasional inquiry as to whether Brittany and I were feeling better. I breathed a deep sigh of relief as we pulled up to the villa.
