(Missi's POV)

There weren't many people in the hallway as we exited Shannon's dressing room. I told myself if Shannon wasn't embarrassed then I certainly wasn't going to appear to be either. His procession down the hallway was amusing. He was in the zone, performing on imaginary drums as he strutted past people, stopping briefly to crash a cymbal with his invisible drumstick.

'Make way, drummer coming through.' He said when we reached Jared and a small group of people.

Jared looked at me questioningly and I shrugged my shoulders. If all Jared had heard earlier was the table bang against the wall, I wasn't going to offer any explanation as to why Shannon was so chipper.

'Gimme a kiss babe.' He said, and as I leaned toward him he swept me into his arms.

'That's my girl.' He said and slapped my ass afterward as I walked away.

I heard faint snickers and was tempted to go back and grab his ass in retaliation. Knowing him he'd enjoy it instead of being embarrassed. I kept going after a brief pause in my stride, making a mental note to discuss decorum when we were alone.

Shannon flashed me a few mischievous glances during sound check. I gave him a quick death stare, so he'd pay attention to what was going on. Afterward I hung out with one of the assistants for the meet and greet, but once it started I ducked out and went to the dressing room. I laid down on the couch, wishing I had a pair of ruby slippers to click together and be home in my own bed. I fell asleep until someone startled me with a knock on the door.

'They're on soon. Come take your place.' Someone yelled.

'I'll be there shortly.' I said making no attempt to get up and fell back to sleep.

'Why aren't you out there? Don't you feel good?' Shannon asked as I awoke to find him standing over me.

'What, oh, sorry.' I stuttered.

'You can help me change.' He said wiggling his eyebrows.

'I think not. I'm already walking like I belong in a western movie.' I said.

'At least come watch then Buffalo Bill.' He teased.

I freshened up a bit while he changed clothes and then accompanied him as far as my place side stage. A quick peck on the cheek as we parted resulted in nasty looks from a few of the meet and greet groupies nearby. I quickly came back to life after my little siesta and I was getting into it when I noticed a couple groupies were more intent on giving me disapproving glances than watching the show. I knew mouthing 'kiss my ass' was a bad idea and opted for a brief scratch of the cheek with my middle finger instead. It was times like these I wished Brittany hadn't left.

The last few concerts were uneventful, and the travel and repetition were getting old. Without Brittany it gave me too much time to get lost in my head and fret about the wedding details. I kept busy after offering to help Emma, who gladly put me to work doing minor tasks. I also spent more time watching the crew set up and I learned a few things in the process.

'What's got you down princess?' Shannon asked as we were snuggling up together in his bunk.

'Worrying about how the wedding will go.' I sighed.

'Well let me tell you about that. Here's what will happen. You and I will show up, we'll say our vows, celebrate and then head off into the great beyond for some time alone. That's how it will be. Oh, and your name will change. So there really isn't anything to worry about.'
