Part 7: Stay with me

Your dad was able to help you with his own magic. After Thor called the Avengers, Ed's house became a crime scene. Your father took you back to the house and laid you down on a bed "Rest. You used a lot of your energy. You did good (y/n)." He leaves to talk to the Avengers. You sneak out of the room and look over to the gathering of Avengers in the living room and Ed. Tony talks to Ed while he pulls up a hologram display of security camera videos showing what happened.

It switches around until it's of you using your powers. Scarlet Witch notes to everyone "Loki can you do any of that?" Your father shakes his head "I can not. I believe that (y/n)'s magic is much stronger than mine. They've displayed it on multiple occasions of this. I would even say they are stronger than my Sister Hela." Dr. Banner points out you turning the gun "They can use transfiguration. (Y/n) can turn things into other objects. In this case sand."

The wasp interjects "Can we talk about (y/n)'s powers another time? We need to talk about what attacked our kids tonight." Thor nods "Agreed, this dark person was after Captain America's son. Why? Son of Stark can you tell us?" Ed shakes his head "For the most part I'm in the dark on this one just as much as you all. But I can say that there is a bounty on James so this will not likely be that last person to go after him."

Tony nods "Look at their gun. It's very advanced and not something you would pick up at your local grocery store. They're either extremely smart or are being aided by someone who is." Ant-man suggests "Justin Hammer?" Black Widow shakes her head "This is too advanced for him. Maybe someone new or has been well hidden."

You feel someone tap your shoulder. You turn around to Azari. He whispers "Are you ok? You really should be laying down." You shake your head "I'm fine. Are you listening to this?" He moves next to you and you both listen in together. Vision speaks to Captain America "Where is James now?" Captain America shakes his head and looks to the ground "He left. I can't believe how bad this has gotten. I've failed as a parent."

Tony pats him "Steve, you did everything you could for him. You can't keep blaming yourself for how James turned out." He sighs before H.E.L.E.N shows up "Mr. Stark, you have a visitor at the door. King T'Challa." Ed nods "Let him in." Tony smiles to Ed "You gave your A.I. a body? That's an interesting idea!"

Ed smiles to his dad as King T'challa walks in with the Dora Milaje behind him. He joins the circle of Avengers and speaks in his thick accent "Sorry I'm late. I had to tell Storm that her son was safe." They nod and reply the video of what happened. He then notes afterward "Where is this cloaked person?"

Azari looks to you "I have to go down to my father. I will get back in touch with you later." You nod as he leaves. The Avengers answer all his questions until Azari walks down to him. T'challa smiles to him "Azari! How are you?" Azari returns the smile "I'm fine father. My suit worked." He nods as he looks to the Dora Milaje and speaks a different language.

They take Azari out of the house as the Avengers continues to talk until Dr.Strange looks up and sees you. He looks to your father who looks up and sees you. Your father sighs before leaving through a portal and behind you "(y/n) you should not be up. You need to rest if you want to be able to use that much magic again." He walks with you back to the bedroom and makes sure your in the bed before going to leave again. You call after him "Father!"

He turns back to you. You sigh "You said my magic was powerful. You even compared me to Aunt Hela. Could I hurt my friends?" He comes back and sits next to you "If you learn to control it. No, you will not. (Y/n), your magic is a gift. You should not fear it, you should rely on it. You will learn to control it and I will help you. However, you do not need to worry about it right now. You need to rest."

He gets up and lightly kisses the top of your head "Get some rest." He leaves as you pull the covers over you. As you're about to fall asleep you hear your window open. Your back is facing that way. So you pull out a knife from your hand and prepare the person to come around you. They do not but stay on the other side of the bed. You hear a voice whisper "(y/n)? It's James."

You turn over to him. James sighs at the sight of you "Are you ok? You scared me when you collapsed." You nod as he sits on the other side of the bed "I'm fine now but the magic I was using took a lot of my energy. I'm still learning how to properly use my magic." He doubts you "Ok, I'm not sure about the whole magic thing but usually when someone collapses that isn't good."

You reassure him "I'm going to be fine James but thanks for checking on me." You start to tuck yourself under the blankets. He looks at you and sighs "Thanks for getting me out away from that cloaked person." You shrug "I'd hope you do the same for me." He nods "I would of course. But I think I could take on that person." You raise an eyebrow "You thank me but then basically tell me 'I didn't need saving'."

He laughs lightly "Yeah sorry, but I could have. How do you think I've survived all the times of you tossing me around?" You nod "That makes sense but how have you kept your strength under the radar?" He simply explains "It's not that hard. I was able to avoid any of those situations until you showed up." You laugh "Sorry but you had it coming in Gym and you don't just kiss a person out of the blue either." He nods "Yeah sorry. I thought you would be ok with it."

You shrug "Just don't do it again or a wall will have another hole in it." You both laugh together. You think about the cloaked person "James how do you expect to survive with the bounty on your head?" He doesn't say anything so you sit up and look him in the eyes "James, you can be a d!ck at times and I know you've done some things but you don't deserve to die." He leans against the bed frame "I can probably get by fine with how I've been."

You shake your head and practically beg him "James go to your dad. Yes I know you don't like him but at least you would be safe." He sighs and started heading for the window. You grab his hand "James please. Please don't go." He sighs "I have to." You close the window and seal it with your magic "Well then you're going to have to leave the hard way." He groans "Why do you always have to make everything hard?" Your father comes into your room at that time "What are you doing in here?"

You put up a force field but can feel it draining you again. You look to James "Stay pleas..." You pass out. James quickly catches you. Your dad springs into action and starts using his magic on you. He looks at James "You pushed them too far. Their magic is stronger than their body can handle." An alarm goes off and Ed runs into the room. He sees what's going on "Are they going to be ok?!"

He gets close as your dad nods "They will be fine. Right now I am just trying to help them along." Captain America walks in and sees James "James..." He sighs "Hello dad." He then looks at you and Your father. Your father finishes up before James lifts you up in his arms and moves you back to the bed.

He pulls the sheets over you and then walks up to his father with both hands out "You can arrest me now." He doesn't do that but pulls him into a hug "I'm so sorry James. I'm sorry I abandoned you. I'll try to be better for you." He hugs him back "Thanks dad for not trying to kill me."
