Part 31: The sacrifice

You drop to the ground as soon as you come through the portal. Red Skull and the twins come through fine. They look to you as you gasp for air "What...the...hell...was that?!" Red Skull stands over you "A minor inconveniences to those who travel by portal the first few times. Now...where is the Infinity Stone?" As you regain your senses, you stand up "I can not access it without magic. Undo this." He studies your face, looking for any signs you might be lying. But of course, he finds nothing. After all, your father is the God of Mischief and lies.

He personally takes the restraint off before you feel yourself go back to normal as your evergreen lights shine out of you. "Now, the infinity stone." The light dwindles before you nod. You open a pocket dimension next to you before you reach in. From the portal, you pull out a small blue glass box. Red Skull's rubbery skin stretches into a smile as he clearly had no idea what it is. "Hand it over." A devious smile forms on your face "I don't think so." The object you hold is the Casket of Ancient Winters.

You open it on him before the blue rays erupt from it. You accurately aim at him as it freezes him where it stands. The portal closes before you make the casket disappear into thin air "A little trick father taught me." You look over to the twins as you feel their mind control should stop as soon as Red Skull is out of the picture. "It's ok. You're free." They, however, do not feel the same. They start teleporting everywhere before coming out to punch you. At first, you did nothing, but it quickly dawned on you that this was not going to stop.

You quickly started fighting them, but they moved so quickly. They quickly realize that the punches they weren't doing you any damage, so they traded using the knife. By the time they were finished with you, you had more cuts on your body than you could count. Your lungs slowly filled with your own blood as you coughed some of it up. A loud boom comes out across from you with Ed and James rushing through.

Ed movies to you when the twins immediately portal over to you, holding a knife to your throat "Come any closer and they're dead." One of them says. You feel yourself slowly slipping as your vision gets blurry as blood seems to run over your eyes "Don't...don't...I'll...the infinity stone..." You jumble your words together. They quickly turn on you as they demand you to hand it over. As you go to put your hand out, James abruptly shouts "Don't! They'll kill everyone!"

In this moment, James though nothing of you but the greater good. Dropping your hand, you give a weak nod smiling to him. "A bad choice." Both of the twins say before plunging the knife into your heart. They let you drop to the ground before disappearing. Ed screams as you drop to the ground gasping for air "No. No! No!" Getting quickly to your side, he takes you into his arms as tears ran down his face. Tears well up in your eyes as the pain starts to become unbearable.

Bright lights start fading in and out of your vision. With red eyes, Ed turns on James "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" Taking Ed's hand, you whisper as best as you can "Don't...don't fight him...I love..." The lights become brighter before your lungs fill completely. Your heart stops as you attempt to finish your sentence. Your body becomes stiff as your eyes glossed over. "(Y/n)? Hey! Wake up! WHAT WERE YOU SAYING?!"

Ed starts shaking your corpse as tears streamed down his face. James stops him before Ed shoves him away "Don't touch me! Don't touch them! They deserved better than you! You let them die!" Ed's hand started shaking uncontrollably as he gently kissed your forehead as he rocked you slowly "Please...please wake up. I...I love you too."
