As you sit in class, your device goes off in your pocket. You had totally forgotten about it as Ed gave it to you after he was tired of you telling him to send a raven if he wanted to tell you anything. You pull it out to a video. It's a live video of a surveillance video of James robbing a bank "You have got to be kidding me?!"
Ed looks back to you as he watches the video too "We got to stop him before his parents get to him. This time I don't think that he'll get a third chance." You nod to him and raise your hand "Mr. Stark I don't feel so good."
(Lol just went back and got this reference)
You fake pass out on the ground. Ed yells and shakes you "Hey! Wake up (y/n)!" Mr. Stark runs to your side and looks to Ed "Get them to the nurse." He quickly lifts you up and runs towards the nurse office. Once out of sight of anyone he puts you down as you open your eyes "You should be an actor. You almost had me fooled."
He pulls out a metal box from his pocket before opening it and allowing his suit to start to form to him. Once it's completely on, you both take off to the bank.
(Time skip brought to you by playing dodgeball to Spider-man and Captain America)
You arrive at the bank just as James runs out with a bag of money "James! I will kick your a** if you do not return that now." He puts on a mask that covers his mouth that looks somewhat like the winter soldier mask. He pulls out a gun and goes to shoot you.
Ed grabs you out of the way and flies around him while he talks to you "He's never used a gun in combat before. Also, is that a hydra mask?!" James starts firing at you guys. Ed avoids the first few bullets before you put a shield up. He drops you into James. James turns on his shield and hits you with it.
You get thrown into one of the pillars of the bank. You quickly recover and go again after him. As you go towards him, he punches Ed in the stomach before doing a combo of multiple hits that hit him so hard into the ground that it breaks the concrete. As you watch this all happen, you see a small red patch on the back of his neck. You tackle him from behind.
You both land blows on each other. He got a few more hits on you as you struggle to get to the red patch. As he pins you on the ground he pulls out a red patch and attempts to put it on you. You knee him in the balls which he groans out. You get out from under him and yank the red patch off his neck. He drops to the ground "Oh thank gods. That was so hard."
You go over to Ed and see that James really did a number on his armor. You help him up and hand him the patch "What is this because it just made James do all of that." He gets up and takes the patch. He lets H.E.L.E.N analyze it before she declares "This is a mind controlling device made by hydra and A.I.M." You look over James as he wakes up and grabs a hold of you. You try to talk to him "Hey it is me, (y/n)!" He doesn't let go so Ed blast him causing him to let go of you. He stands up quickly "Where am I? What did you do to me?"
Iron man flies in with one of the quinjets not too far behind you. You try to talk to James "James, it was not us. What happened to you? Of all things why did they make you rob a bank?" He yells "I don't know!" Iron man looks to you and Ed "How was your visit to the nurse?" He looks over Ed "What the hell happened?" James yells "They mind controlled me!"
You point at them both "No, no we didn't! Look at the surveillance!" He hacks into the bank's surveillance as Captain America comes out of the jet with Black Widow. He watches the video before showing Captain America "James, we can't let this keep going on. We're going to have to turn you over to General Ross." You yell at them both "No! He was mind controlled!" You show him the patch "This was on him."
They all dismiss you completely "Stop covering for him! He has to face the consequences of what he did." James pulls off the mask "This was a hydra mask! How do you explain this?!" Black widow shakes her head "James, we have to turn you over now." He shakes his head and grabs you "I'm not going to that prison! I was there once! I'm not going back!" He points the gun at your head "You do realize I'm bulletproof, right?"
He nods "Yes but I'm pretty sure these few bullets are made out of adamantium. Now get me out of here." You nod as Captain America yells at James to put the gun down. You open a portal and you both walk through.
