Avengers Academy

Part 20: Court Marshal

When the Milano returns you to the Academy, your father runs to you and pulls you into a hug "Thank gods you are okay!" You hug him back before saying slightly irritated as you show him the wristband "Now I need this thing off." He looks at it "How long have you had this on? Where did you get it?!" You look to Tony Stark "James found it in the labs and put it on me." You father turns with rage "What were your plans with this?!"

Ed comes up to you and looks over it before figuring out how to disable it and taking it off you. You immediately check to see if your magic works. The green ore of your power burns brighter than usual. The green passes over your eyes. Your father steps slightly away at your display of power before you contain it by bringing it back into you. You see Black Widow and Captain America come out from the academy with James in handcuffs. You immediately start yelling and running towards him.

Your father stops you "He is going to be taken by General Ross again. You have to let him go." You push past him and try talking to his parents "Please! He was being controlled!" They ignore you and walk past you. James yells back "They won't listen!" You yell angrily causing your magic to flare up. Your father notices this and stops them all. You remember that in your pocket is the red patch that was on James "Fine! If you will not listen to me, I will show you!"

James turns back as you pull out the patch "This is the mind control device that was on James. It was made by Hydra and A.I.M." You move your hair out of the way. James immediately starts freaking out "No! Get that away from them!" He wrestles with his parents to get loose. He breaks the cuffs before punching his father away from him. You place the patch on. Everything starts to fade very quickly.

(James pov)

I punch my dad away and try to get to (y/n). Mom goes to electrocute me but I crush her wrist bands and push her out of the way. As I get past them (y/n) has just put on the patch. They turn to us before blasting me across the street and into a building. I groan as I get up and turn on my shield. I look back to see they are taking on their father. Explosions of bright green and dark green go back and forth. I run back to the fight as they knock out their father.

Ed and Mr.Stark are sending multiple explosives at them but it doesn't faze them. (y/n) blast them out of the sky before Mark blasts them with his light beam. My dad gets up and looks to me "Ok, I believe you now. (Y/n) would never do this." I throw my hands up "Well that took you long enough! Now we have to get that patch off of them!" (Y/n) and Mark are blasting each other with their powers as my dad comes up with a plan "How strong is (y/n)?"

You answer as she starts to go after Dr.Banner who is the hulk now. They don't really use their strength but mostly their magic to blast him across the city. "About the same as me. We would both need to get a hold of them and then have someone take off the patch." Mom gets over to dad and hears the last of the conversation "Alright, let's do this."

We all get up and go for (y/n) except they stop what they're doing before opening a portal. I yell after (y/n) as I run to them just as they enter the portal. The portal closes as I get there where I'm thrown to the ground after trying to jump through it "No!!" My dad comes to my side "Where did they go?" I shake my head "I don't know but hydra has them now. It's all my fault." He gets down with me "Son, no it wasn't. We didn't believe you and they were trying to prove it to us."

I nod feeling numb "We have to find them! I don't care how." I get up as my dad does too "We'll find them together."
