Part 13: Loki the Matchmaker

You wake up in Asgard with the healers tending to you. One of them gasps out "Prince/princess (y/n)! You're awake. You healed quickly!" You nod before Ed rushes in. You smile to him "Ed! What do you have in your hand?" He smiles shyly "I got these for you. They're daisies." You take them as he hands them to you and smell them. They remind you of the grass fields near the Academy.

You smile to him "Come here Ed! Thank you so much!" He comes over and leans down to you as you give him a hug. You look around "Where is my father? Where's James?" He rubs the back of his neck "Your dad will be here shortly but ummm James. He's fine, but he kinda vanished. We don't know why but he left you this letter." You take it and read it "Get better soon. I'm going to be back soon don't worry."

You huff angrily before crumpling the letter "Well he's back to himself I can see." Ed gives a small nod as the healers leave. He sits down on the bed "What happened after they took you guys? You guys were gone for about a week. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." You shake your head "No it's fine. They tortured James every day and forced me to take them to my father's vault. Luckily I took them to a fake one and was able to get James away before I got away too, but with a knife in me."

He nods before really looking you in the eyes "Are you sure you're ok? It's ok if you're not." You give a sigh "Besides me being pissed with James, no I'm ok for now. How long have you been waiting for me to wake up?" He thinks for a second "Two days. I've been waiting outside of your room the entire time waiting for you to wake up." You stop yourself from letting out an "Aww." Your father walks in at that moment. He walks up to your bed "You are awake! Thank you Ed for watching them."

He smiles to you as he leaves. Once he is out, your father talks to you "I like that boy. He cares for you. The other one however I am surprised he is the honorable Captain America's son. He lacks any sort of remorse or feeling."

You give him a weak smile "Father, Ed is nice and James can be nice. James just has his moments." You father nods "Yes, but Ed does not have those moments, making him a better person." You whine "Father! I don't need to be playing matchmaker." He laughs lightly "If that is what you want, I will drop it." You smile happily. Your uncle and cousins burst through your doors "(y/n) we hear of your awakening from the son of Stark!" You smile to them "Uncle and cousins it is nice to see you all again."

You look to your father "Will we be having our family dinner?" He nods as he gets off your bed "Yes, but I believe you are not well enough to come." You shake your head "No! I'm perfectly fine! See?" Your uncle laughs "Come brother and let our family feast together tonight! (Y/n) must be hungry!"

You nod as you and your cousins runoff. Your father looks to your uncle "Will Sif be joining us tonight?" (Time skip brought you by you sneaking onto the Avengers Endgame set)

As you dig into your food, Lady Sif starts talking to you. You stop eating and listen in "(y/n) how is the Academy?" You smile "It's wonderful except for the masked assassins." She immediately looks to your uncle slightly angered "Masked assassins? You did not tell me of this! Are our children safe?"

Thor chuckles "My lady, all of the children are fine. Torunn and Cade both showed their combat skills against the masked assassin!" Lady Sif sighs "Well it is good that they know what they are doing." Your uncle nods happily "Torunn also showed powers similar to mine!" Lady Sif smiles to her daughter "That's wonderful!"

Ed walks in at that moment. He's wearing Asgardian armor. Loki smiles to him "Edward son of Stark! You were able to join us! Come, sit next to (y/n)!" You smile to Ed before glaring to your father and whisper just to him "Father! Stop trying to have me court him!" Ed sits down before adjusting the armor "Hello (y/n)!" I can see Torunn trying to hold in her laughter. You kick her under the table "Hello Ed. Why are you in armor?" He looks down "I thought this what you guys usually wear? They gave it to me."

You laugh "No Ed those are for war, not for dinner." Everyone laughs at the table. Ed starts blushing out of embarrassment "But You do look good in the armor." He smiles to you as he starts to eat. You all start discussing everything under the sun until a guard walks in. He's stabbed from behind and drops to the floor. Malekith appears behind him with a bloody knife "Perfect! The whole family is here!" You stand up and blast him "Get out of Asgard dark elf!" Ed looks confused "Elf?"
