Kayla's P.O.V

"You ate half of the pizza already Ethan. I deserve the last piece" I chuckled and tried reaching over for the last pizza slice inside the box. Ethan managed to close the box beforehand making me pout.

"Excuse me," Ethan pretended to be offended.

"You heard me give me the last slice" I demanded.

"No" he smirked.

"Give it to me please" I begged.

"I'm going to eat it" he continues to tease. I roll my eyes and reached over to his side trying to pull the box away from him.

"Give it" I laughed loudly as he tugged on the box too.

"No, you give it"

"Seriously guys are you always fighting for food?" Roni laughed at our childish manners.

We both let go of the box and scooted over allowing Roni and Noah to sit with us.

"We don't fight" I corrected her looking over at Ethan who had a huge grin on his face.

"We don't fight" Roni mocks my voice. "That's what you guys say now. I and Noah fight and argue every now and then. Meaning we are a healthy couple." she grins and hooks her hand with Noahs.

Noah laughs at Ronis's attitude but doesn't say anything in return.

"Fighting isn't our thing" Ethan chips in.

"Exactly" I agree with him and nuzzled my head against his shoulder while he wrapped his hand around my waist. Pulling me closer.

I looked up to his eyes and saw that sparkle to them.

Maybe it was some kind of light reflecting off his eyes, but I sure thought it was because of me.

He looks down at me and pecks my lips ever so softly causing Roni to cough.

"Hey excuse me" Roni teases.

I roll my eyes in annoyance and look over at her.

"Why do you always have to interrupt my moment?"  I ask. Ethan simply laughs at me and waits for Roni to respond.

"Why is it that you always kiss your boyfriends in front of me?" she fires back.

Good point.

"Just get a room" she jokes once again causing Noah to react.

"Babe" he smirks at her.

Roni looks up to Noah's eyes and tries to win a confrontation against him.

Noahs eyes narrow down causing Roni to back down.

"Okay fine maybe I'm the one that shows up at the wrong times" she admits making all of the burst in laughter.

After we all settle down a bit she begins to speak again.

"Now that everyone is settled. I was wondering if the happy couples were attending this week's party at Kevin's?" she grins.

Both Ethan and I tense up and look away from one another.

This is just awkward.

"What did I say?" Roni asks Noah.

"They stopped going to parties remember" Noah answers.

It's true.

After Ethan and I got together, we promised to stop going to parties. It was better for both of us.  For one being at parties brought bad memories back and two now that we were together parties lost their meaning to us.

"Come on you guys just think about it" Roni insisted.

I look over at Ethan and saw that same doubtful face expression plastered all over his facial features.

"Please tell me you'll think about it both" I heard her say again.

Ethan looked up at me and somehow I felt what his answer would be.

"We'll think about it" I fakely smiled back at Roni.

"That's a yes to me" she cheerfully said looking over at Noah who kept shaking his head in disapproval.

The rest of the lunch was spent talking among all of us about other plans we could make soon and maybe possible trips.

Ethan and I didn't talk about the party subject anymore as he walked me back to my class.

"So about the party stuff and-" he began to ramble on before I stopped him.

"We'll talk about it later okay?" I smiled softly at him hoping he will let the topic go.

At least for now.

"Later?" he said sounding more like a question.

"Yes," I pecked his lips and walked back into my classroom.

Ethan's P.O.V

Today Roni decided to bring up a topic I wished we never had to discuss again.

Parties

Part of me still wanted to attend them just for the fun of things but Kayla hated them after what happened between us.

She feared something and part of me did too. Yet we never brought that subject up. Ever.

That's why we never fought. We teased each other and play fought but nothing serious ever happened.

We also didn't sleep with one another like we used to. We weren't ready for that.

We were scared of commitment even though we had done it millions of times before.

We wanted it to be meaningful this time.

I wanted her to trust me and I wanted to trust her.

So we are waiting.

Waiting for things to seem normal between us.

Or remotely close to it.

But I'm afraid this party thing is going to challenge us and frankly, I'm not ready for it.
