Kayla's P.O.V
"Can you believe in a few more weeks we get to go to prom?" Roni excitedly mumbles as she goes through a rack of dresses.
"No, " I softly smile. "I can't believe it's almost over."
It went by that fast. Time truly wasn't slowing down and I feel like ever since the school year started so much has happened that I didn't realize it.
I have been so busy dealing with problems with Ethan and our relationship and all the schoolwork I had to deal with on top of that.
I seriously made it. I'm proud of myself.
"I think this one's pretty don't you think, " Roni mentions as she directs my attention to a lavender-colored dress.
"It's beautiful, " someone else said before me.
"I agree, " I softly chuckled before turning to look at the person standing behind me. "You beat me to it." I teased.
The girl pushes a strand of her short black hair behind her ear in a nervous manner and smiles. "I guess I did."
"Well, I'm glad you two liked it, " Roni smiles while admiring her soon to be prom dress.
"You can try it on if you like, " the girl mumbles." I can open up a dressing room for you."
I look over at Roni and see her nod in response before we all head down to the dressing rooms.
The girl begins to open the dressing room for her while I stay behind and let Roni go in to try it on.
"Thank you so much..." I pause looking for her name tag. "Lucy." I smile.
"No problem...." She pauses waiting to know name.
"Kayla, " I tell her.
"Well, Kayla if you need any help please let me know and-"
"Actually do you mind picking a few dresses for me. I'm just a bit out of it today and you are a girl with an impeccable taste I see."
"I would love to do that. I'll be right back." She joyfully struts as she makes her way toward the section we were just in.
"So how do I look?" Roni asks.
"Noah is a lucky guy for sure, "

"So how was dress shopping?" Ethan asked once he picked me up from my house.
"Well I finally have a dress, " I smiled looking over at him.
I see a small smile warming up to his face while he drives causing small flutters in my stomach.
"Well I can't wait to see it, " he turns to look over at me with a smirk.
"Well, you will only have to wait a few more weeks luckily, but guess what happened to me when I went dress shopping." I enthusiastically said.
Ethan tenses up a bit causing me to furrow my eyebrows.
"What?" He coughs clearing his throat.
"Ethan it's nothing bad silly, " I chuckle causing him to relax a bit. "I actually made a friend while shopping. The girl who helped me pick out the dress."
"You barely know her kay and you already consider her your friend." He teases.
"Well yeah, her name is Lucy and she's like kinda shy and super nice. We got to spend a bit of time with her during her break. So we kinda got to know her. She just moved here this year actually. She's just a junior and she's having a kid in a few more months. Can you even believe that?"
"So you bonded with this girl I see, " Ethan jokingly rolled his eyes at me.
"Yes, I did," I admitted. "I can't imagine what she's going through with a kid and all especially at this age."
"You know we should have kids," Ethan suggests causing me to almost choke on my own breath.
"What?" I croak.
"Well not right now babe, later on, when we get together and have careers and all." He laughs at my reaction.
I take a deep breath out and sigh in relief.
"Yeah later. We can do all that family building stuff later."
