Kayla's P.O.V

"Mom you didn't have to do all this," I mentioned once the makeup artist and hairstylist left.

"It's a special night kay," she said while helping me zip up my dress.

"Pretty pretty," I hear Sadie say as she comes into the room.

"Aww thank you little one, " I smile while looking at myself in the mirror.

I sure did look pretty. My hair was in a simple yet beautiful hairstyle and the makeup was phenomenal.

I could never beat my face like that and make it come outright.

A gold glittery sequined hugged my body almost perfectly.

I couldn't describe exactly what I was feeling but I knew I had butterflies in my stomach.

It was finally prom night.

After tonight, there would only be a few more weeks left in school. Well less than a few weeks for us seniors.

I can't believe we made it. Ethan, Roni, Noah, and I made it through all of it.

"You look really beautiful Kayla, " My brother Caleb peeked his head into my room.

"Thank you, Caleb, " I looked over at him and smiled.

"Umm I came to tell you that Ethans here waiting with dad downstairs, " he smiles.

Ethan's here.

This is it.

"We'll head down first and meet you down there," mom tells me before leaving with my siblings downstairs.

I take one last look at myself in the mirror and take a deep breath before making my way downstairs.

I grabbed a small clutch I had put a few of my belongings in and headed out.

More butterflies seemed to build up in my stomach as I walked down the stairs and saw everyone's eyes on me.

Ethan looks as handsome as ever and the smile that his lips held caused everything else to disappear.

He held out his hand once I reached the end of the stairs in which I gladly accepted.

He didn't say much but I could tell from the way he looked at me that he loved my dress.

"Hi," I smiled at him causing him to get out of his trance.

"You look absolutely gorgeous, kay" he replied. He was speechless and his eyes sparked which made me feel happy, to say the least.

"You don't look bad yourself Ethan. " I smiled back at him.

It took us a few seconds to come out of our trance before my mom and dad began pestering us to take pictures together.

"Oh come on you two we need pictures. " my mom repeated over and over again as she grabbed her camera.

"Okay. Okay," I laughed at her demeanor.
