Kayla's P.O.V

After prom night ending up being a bit chaotic,  Ethan and I tried our best to forgive and forget.

I think it's best that way anyways.

"Wow such an eventful night," Mason chuckles after I caught him up on what had happened.

"Very," I laughed while taking a sip of my coffee.

"I wonder what my prom is going to be like. Hopefully I don't end up fighting anyone." He teases.

"Haha very funny you."

"Oh come on it was hilarious. "

I jokingly roll my eyes and smile back at him.

"So who are you taking to prom?" I curiously ask him.

"Oh come on really," he shakes his head and begins laughing.

"Why are you laughing?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"You know I don't have a date and your teasing me," he rolls his eyes in a joking manner.

"Oh you don't have a date bummer, " I say  mocking his tone.

"Enough of that Lucy is coming over, " he gestured over to where she was entering from.

"Saved by the bell," I chuckle. "This discussion is not over though. "

He shrugs his shoulders and turns away going back to cleaning his station.

"Hey Lucy, " I say while I stand up and give her a hug.

"Hey," she sighs.

"Is something wrong?" I ask immediately once we both take a seat.

"Not really it's just the baby is kicking," she chuckles.

I look down at her belly and see the smallest movement every so often.

"Can i?" I gesture over to her belly.

She nods her head yes and I place one of my hands onto her belly feeling the slightest kick.

I smile immediately.

Wow theres really a little girl in there.

"Hi little one," I begin to say to the baby. "We are currently in my favorite coffee shop where the nice barista knows my order." I chuckled.

"I think your voice calms her down." Lucy says quite amazed.

"I think so because I don't feel her kicking anymore, " I laugh.

"Aww you're a baby whisperer." Mason chimes in.

I turned to look at him and smile lightly at his comment.

"You know what I'll take that as a compliment. So thank you Mason." I grinned happily.

"Kayla I been meaning to ask you something lately, " Lucy mumbled.

The tone in her voice made my heart panic a little bit.

I honestly don't think its something really bad but I have this weird guy feeling all of a sudden.

"Well you see," she pauses and takes in a breath. " well the dad of the baby is,"

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.

"The dad of the baby is? What Lucy?" I press on.

"Sorry she kicked again and for a second I thought I felt a contraction but no it was a kick." Lucy sighs in relief. "Right what I was trying to say was since the dad of the baby is yet to be found and I will probably be putting the baby up for adoption.  I wanted you to be the godmother. "

"I'm honored Lucy but I think that's not really somethong you can choose since the adopted parents will choose someone else for the job." I lightly chuckled.

"I know but I just really want you to be part of the babys life since you have helped me out so much with everything.  I might just tell the adoptive parents that if you aren't the godmother,  they cannot adopt her." She teases.

"Well then I guess I'm the godmother. " I smile. "Did you hear that Mason I'm a godmother?"

"I want to be the godfather!" Mason smiles over at Lucy.

"Well you see Mason that's not really a choice I can make." Lucy teases causing Mason to laugh.

"Okay okay I get it. It was fun to be considered godfather for at least a few seconds."

Oh Mason.

All of us burst out laughing at his comment.

I'm honestly sad that Lucy will not be here in a while. I sorta like this dynamic we have going.

"Well I think it is only fair to go shopping for some baby stuff don't you think." I turn to look over at Lucy.

"That sounds great when should we go? I'm free this whole week."

"We can do it Friday and we can just meet at my school. I'll tell you where to meet me at since I have a free period that day." I smiled.

"Its settled then. Just text me the details later because right now I'm thirsty and kinda hungry." She chuckles..

"You heard her Mason. Chop chop." I tease Mason once again.

"I better get a good tip if you keep treating me this way."

"Better yet. I'll be your plus one to prom. I think it will be nice to have a good friend by your side." I smile.

Masons face almost begins glowing hearing such news.

"Hopefully your boyfriend doesn't get mad at you and tells you not to go." He says while starting to make our drinks.

"Well he can't tell me what to do and plus it's time for you to meet him. You are one of my closest friends now."

"You're friends and her boyfriend will understand that." Lucy pitched in.

"If you say so," Mason nervously shrugs.

Good thing I didn't show any prom pictures to him so I can wear the same dress again.
