Kayla's P.O.V.
"So are we going to talk about what happened between you and Ethan?" Roni asks from the passenger's seat.
"We fought that's it," I said straight forward.
"I thought the happy couple didn't fight?" she teases.
Noah clears his throat and diverts his eyes over at Roni before looking back at the road.
"Is everything alright between you two?" Noah kindly asks.
"He wanted to go to the party and I didn't then he called me possessive, bitchy and overdramatic" I angrily repeated his words.
They were truly harsh but semi truthful which I hated to admit.
"You guys fought over a stupid party?" Roni began laughing.
"Yes, which is the worst part of it all. We decided not to attend them a long time ago and now he brings that topic up" I sigh. "I'm just scared."
"I've never been in a committed relationship before and it scares me. Kevin and I used to cheat so often during those parties that it makes me wonder what if that ever happens to Ethan and me."
"It won't" Roni chips in.
"You don't know that. I don't know that and hell he doesn't know either."
"You need to tell him what you feel Kayla," Noah suggests.
I mean he isn't wrong, but I don't think that will make him change his mind. He is set ongoing and there is nothing I can do to stop him.
"He's calling you" Roni points out.
I put my phone on silent a while back that I didn't think of raising the volume up.
"I don't think I should answer" I doubtfully say.
"Noah pulls over" Roni instructs while she unbuckles her seatbelt.
"What are you-" I begin to question before I see her turn her body over and teaches for my phone.
"Roni what the hell" Noah pulls over while I try to pull my phone away from her.
"Give it back" I demand and use one of my free hands to take my seatbelt off.
"Let me answer" she rambles on and clicks a green.
"I'm not talking to him," I say pulling my phone away from her reach.
After fighting for it, Noah decides to take it away from us both and places it near his ear.
"She'll call you later," he says before ending the call.
My eyebrows furrow and my face expression are plain after hearing him act so calmly in this situation.
"I won't call him back" I pout and take my phone away from him.
"He needed some reassurance you haven't broken up with him," Noah admits and turns back to look at me.
"I guess" I scoff and face the window.
"You should have handed the phone to me babe" Roni pouts once she is seated back in her spot.
"You would have ratted her out babe" he chuckles.
I roll my eyes at both of them and try my best ignoring their stupid love advice.
If only they would understand.
Ethan's P.O.V.
I haven't left the parking lot yet and the silence she has given me for the last couple minutes is killing me.
Yes, Kayla can be quite complicated and possessive or whatever, but I love her. Even if I don't want to admit it.
She is my other half.
I hate that I miss her.
Maybe I should just call? Or go to her house?
Showing up unexpectedly would also be quite fucked up but I mean we need to fix it.
Compromise.
Or at least try to.
Compromise.
I was hesitant when I took my phone out of my back pocket. I wanted to call but then again I didn't.
Do you get me?
UGHHHH
Soon enough my fingers meddled around her contact and clicked the call button before I could back down.
I placed my phone near my ear and waited for a response.
That same ringing sound repeated over and over as her line connected to mine.
Soon enough I was going to be lead straight to voicemails, which I didn't want because I would have said some stupid shit that I would try to cover up with more stupid shit.
Luckily it didn't have to come down to that because her line finally connected.
"Hey" I mumbled.
I didn't get a response though as all I could hear was voices arguing or fighting for something.
I could recognize the voices of both Kayla and Roni as if they were fighting over the phone.
"I'm not talking to him" I hear her say loud and clear.
Ouch.
Once again their voices fought with one another until I hear Noah say.
"She'll call you later."
Right when I was about to say something my line cuts.
Great.
I truly want to believe she is going to call back but she is too proud and petty to do so.
I guess I will be the one to take the first step.
I just need to Compromise and not back out.
Compromise.
