Kayla's P.O.V.
After having a long conversation with Mason the barista. I decided to finally head home for the day.
My phone was off for the day and I think my mom would start to worry if I'm not home yet.
The closer I get to my house the more noticeable his car becomes.
It was parked right out front when I began to pull into the driveway.
I saw him sitting near my stairs causing me to feel a bit nervous.
Before I got out, I took a deep breath in and out, getting myself prepared for what was to come.
I took my keys off the ignition and I pushed the door open. I set one foot down on the ground followed by my other foot allowing me to step out.
"You're not supposed to be here" I coldly spoke closing the door behind me.
"I'm sorry" is the first thing he said as he got up from his spot.
I didn't move toward, but rather stayed put waiting for some sort of thing to happen.
"I'm tired" I mumbled completely ignoring his presence once I made my way to the door
"Wait" he pulled me back by my wrist stopping me from leaving.
"Don't" I pulled back and glared up to his eyes.
They seemed to hurt in a sense yet it unfazed me at this point.
He didn't get to play this stupid pity card on me. He promised to meet me here. He promised to call me if anything happened yet he broke both of the promises.
"Kayla please" he begged. His eyes were hopeful once I looked back at him but I simply couldn't.
"Not today Ethan" I whispered and made my way inside.
Ethan's P.O.V.
Her eyes had such uncertainty to them that it made me question whether or not she would allow me to speak.
She denied it in every way, of course, leaving me here once again.
There wasn't someone else I could blame this on.
Nobody else but me.
Kayla's P.O.V
(A few days after)
"You're seriously not talking to him?" Roni asked while I got some of my books out of my locker.
"Who?" I asked peeking my head out to meet her eyes.
"You can't ignore him forever" she states chuckling a bit.
"I know that Roni, I just don't want to talk about it. Ever." I sighed and closed my locker.
"Has he tried apologizing?" she questions.
Of course, he has, multiple times, but every time he tried to I have walked away or just pretended he wasn't there.
He deserves the silent treatment and nothing more.
Who does he think he bailing on some stupid plans he made? Stupid.
"He has but I gave up, on the whole, apologizes for the thing," I said and began to walk to class.
"Kevin really fucked you up didn't he" Roni lowers her head in disappointment.
"I chose to live that life though and now I have major issues. For one I can't trust my boyfriend or believe he truly loves me. It's infuriating" I rambled on.
"Kayla don't you-" Roni talks while I looked over to where Ethan usually stood.
His eyes were fearful as he talked to Ashton and his friends which worried me too I'm a sense.
His eyes then wandered over to mine and remained there for a little while.
His hazel eyes panicked and it seemed like he was troubled in a sense.
I feared that panic in his eyes. I know he is hiding something but I guess I might never know what.
I turned my head away and began speed walking without informing Roni what I was doing.
She stayed behind while I ran out to my car that was parked nearby.
I thought I could get through this but it seems like I need to finally talk to him.
Ethan's P.O.V.
"You were so fucking drunk Eth" Ashton smirked. "Still owe you the money so don't worry about that"
Money?
"What money?" I knitted my eyebrows together trying to figure out what the fuck he was talking about.
"Dude come on was she so unforgettable" he darkly laughs accompanied by the rest.
I still couldn't understand what he meant but I decided to ignore it.
They all talked amongst themselves until I clicked.
I'm fucking dead.
My eyes were immediately drawn to Kayla and that's when I lost it.
A rush of panic and worry ran through my veins when the memory of that night played in my head.
Somehow I felt Kayla knew just by the look she gave me but something told me otherwise.
She rushed out of the school leaving Roni behind. I decided to follow her out hoping this time she will forgive me.
Forgive me for something at least.
I pushed through my group of friends and tried following her out.
"Kayla" I stopped to catch my breath after running.
She looked up from the ground and continued to lean against her car as I approached her.
"Please come with me" I begged.
Her eyes were fixated on me making her seem yet again more intimidating than before. I kept my composure though and pretended to be okay with it.
"Meet me by the burger place later yeah?" I hopefully asked.
She thought about it. Her lips pursed into a thin line and her eyes looked me up and down before nodding her head along.
I guess I get to fix one of my problems at least.
