Ethan's P.O.V.
I arrive at her house and wait a couple of seconds before heading over to her front door.
I was still unsure what I was going to say at this point, but I hoped it would be sufficient enough to convince her into an agreement.
Compromise. I repeated to myself one last time.
I took one last deep breath and began getting out of the car. I locked it behind me and walked all the way up her driveway towards the door.
Still hesitant I knocked on the door and took a step back before I hear the door unlock.
Her dark honey eyes meet mine and its clear she wasn't expecting me so soon.
"What are you doing here?" she bluntly asks.

"I came to work things out" I sighed.
Her eyes were set on mine. Possibly wondering if what I was saying was true.
"Okay..." she took a deep breath out. "I guess I could hear you out"
And we're in.
Kayla's P.O.V
"I'm not changing my mind " I sighed and sat down on the couch.
"That's not what I was going to say" he takes a seat across from me.
I nod along hinting him that I'm listening and allow him to speak this time without me interrupting.
I need to at least hear him out.
"Why?"
"Why what?" I simply ask while keeping direct eye contact with him.
He narrows his eyes and stares deeply into mine as if he were telling me I already knew the answer to my own question.
"I'm scared" I mumbled under my breath. I tilted my head slightly ashamed of such feeling and saw him furrow his eyebrows.
"Scared of?" was all I heard him say.
"Losing you" I admitted.
"Kayla i-" he begins to say before I cut him off.
"I know it's stupid but it's true." I try taking a deep breath before continuing. "Kevin and I used to cheat every time we would go to parties. Whether it was before one of us arrived or during our presence. He would go upstairs during the party for at least 10 minutes then come back with fresh marks on his neck. I would pretend they weren't there most of the time but usually, I would notice them"
"He would send "I love you" by text every time he cheated." I tried my best to keep strong but my walls were breaking down.
"He didn't love me but I didn't care anymore until the Roni situation. Then you came into my life and tore every wall I had put in place to protect me from betrayal."
"It's not that I don't want to go and I know I can be bitchy and possessive most of time but I'm new at this. I'm new at the real relationship portion" I sobbed lightly.
"Come here" Ethan stood up and sat next to me while holding me in his embrace. "I'm such an ass"
I chuckled under my tears and wiped some of them away before I smiled at him.
"I promise to try to keep myself in check and maybe we could go to the next party instead" I sympathetically smiled.
Ethan's face lit up and it was clear he was happy with our compromise.
"We should do something together instead" he kisses my forehead.
"Actually" I back away slightly just enough to face him.
"Kayla?" he raises an eyebrow skeptically.
"Sadie is getting sick and my parents are going on Caleb's tournament this weekend so I'm on babysitting duties" I smiled hoping it would have some effect on Ethan.
"I guess I could help" he chuckles and pulls me close to his chest.
"Fighting isn't so bad" I joked.
"I guess not but let's just hope it doesn't happen again. I can't bear to see you crying. It hurts me way too much" he lowers his head and pecks my lips.
"I can never stay mad at you. Ever."
