Light of the Last Hope

Back at the kingdom...

Everyone stand ready, waiting for them to come. Each one of them holding their weapons firmly, except for Crystal. She doesn't wield any weapon for some reason.

"Crystal... The dagger..." Said Slyver.
"What about it ?" Ask Crystal, as she was staring at the portal.
"You are not holding any weapon, how are you suppose to fight ?" Ask Slyver.
"With this of course." Crystal showed the lantern.
"What is that suppose to do..." Slyver confused.
"To protect all of you, that's how I'm going to fight." Said Crystal.

Slyver stared at the dagger for a while, and noticed it's glowing faint red.

"Crystal, the dagger wants you to use it." Said Slyver.
"No Slyver... It would've been against the rule." Said Crystal.
"Why ? What's with that dagger..." Slyver wandered.
"Look, Arcanic never wanted me to draw the dagger out. So there's no way I'll do it." Said Crystal.
"Your choice... But that means you have to go on the back." Said Slyver.
"What ? Why ?" Ask Crystal.
"You're the only important person left, you shouldn't be fighting in front line." Said Slyver.
"No... I disagree." Crystal shake her head.
"Not until either I die, or they die." Said Crystal.
"I'm not putting anyone's life before me, I've lost one. I don't want to lost another..." Crystal looked down for a moment.
"Then stay close..." Said Slyver.

They were waiting, and waiting. But no sign of movement from the portal.

"You would think they'll be here by now right ?" Ask Dawn.
"I don't know... Only thing I know is they will come." Said Slyver.
"Right..." Dawn nodded.

They keep waiting, and waiting... Still, no sign of them.

"Dawn..." Said Slyver.
"Yes ?" Ask Dawn.
"What's your thoughts about Arcanic ?" Ask Slyver.
"Why are you bringing this up ?" Ask Dawn.
"I don't know... You both look like... You hate each other." Said Slyver.
"Don't be silly... I always admire him." Said Dawn.
"The only thing we hate about each other is because he's way to kind to people eventhough they did bad things to him, while I... Well, you know." Said Dawn.
"I see..." Slyver nodded.
"But I always love what he's done. I don't know, his presence... Somehow brings peace and calm." Said Dawn.
"There's something between you and him regarding Crystal I heard..." Said Slyver.
"Huh ? What about it ?" Ask Dawn.
"I heard you'll be marrying her." Said Slyver.
"Huh... as if I care..." Said Dawn.
"What ?" Ask Slyver.

Dawn took a breath, then look at Slyver closely.

"She never wanted to marry anyone, not even me, or him, it has been her attitude Slyver, that's why I don't care anymore. I already asked King Vallhain for resignation." Said Dawn.
"What ? W-where are you going ?" Ask Slyver.
"This place is too peaceful for someone like me to live in it. So I decided to cease things out in Ragnarok Continent with Wyrin, now that he's here." Dawn explained.
"Oh, I see... That means you're leaving then." Said Slyver.
"Cheer up guy, we'll meet in another time." Said Dawn.
"Speaking of meeting... Be prepared." Said Dawn, as he point his lance forward.

The portal was resonating with dark energy, and soon after... It bursts out, destroying the shield protecting it. Then immediately, creatures starts pouring out.

"Everyone get ready ! Cynthia, Yuko, Zaiden, with me !" Said Dawn.
"Mustafa, Murad, William, Yumi, with me !" Said Slyver.
"Xanier, come with me." Said Green, as he and Xanier ran towards a small hill.

Crystal began to channel her light energy to her lantern, and bursting it out, creating huge pillars nearby. Dawn, with his team, took the front line and form a formation so no one can interrupt Crystal. Slyver and his team roam around the battlefield doing most of the killing part. Green and Xanier support them by killing flying creatures from afar and preventing Dawn's team from getting overwhelmed.

After a while, a figure showed up, riding a horse.

"Abbadon... Watch out !" Shout Dawn to Slyver.

Slyver noticed it in time and dodged Abbadon's charge, perhaps even saving him from being killed.

"Fight toe to toe with me human..." Said Abbadon.
"How about we fight fair and using our weapons instead ?" Said Slyver, as he ran quickly to Abbadon and tried to slash him.

But somehow Abbadon didn't get injured, his wound quickly covered itself up.

"Foolish human, then die !" Abbadon charged towards Slyver and tried to slash him.

The duel went intense as both of them nearly get hit by each other. Some time passed, and Abbadon still trying to kill Slyver. Slyver himself started to get exhausted trying to dodge Abbadon's attack. Then, his feet glowed in light.

"Use it to your advantage Slyver." Said Crystal.
"Thank you !" Said Slyver, as he ran up to Abbadon and tried to slash him again.

This time, Slyver's movement became faster and more unpredictable, as Abbadon getting overwhelmed by Slyver's attacks.

"Die you worthless foul being !" Slyver finally stabbed Abbadon's chest.

A small explosion occurred, throwing Slyver away. And before his eyes believe what he saw, Abbadon recreated his ownself again.

"He he... Quite a power..." Said Abbadon.

Soon after, another commander showed up. A gigantic demon, with an axe on it's hand, ready to destroy anything in it's path.

"Haaaaahhhh !" Shout the demon, as it raise it's axe.
"Watch out everyone !" Said Cynthia.

Everyone dodged the attack, Crystal nearly got hit by the axe but she then flew away near Green.

"This is dangerous... How are we suppose to kill him..." Said Dawn.
"Go protect Crystal, I'll handle this." Said Yuko, as his lance stretched itself longer.

Yuko proceed to attack the demon by stretching his lance. The lance react to Yuko's movement and stretched itself to wherever Yuko aim. The demon was getting annoyed by Yuko's attack and decided to swing it's axe around, attacking anyone near it. Yuko almost got hit by the axe but dodged it anyway.

Dawn and Cynthia ran to where Crystal is and continue to protect her.

"Um, this isn't good." Said Green.
"Yes, we're getting surrounded." Said Xanier.
"There's way too many of them for us to handle." Said Dawn.
"Green, remember, the arrow." Said Crystal.
"Oh right ! Crossfire ! On it..." Green took the special arrow.

Then, he pull the bow at the same time channeling his energy to the arrow. And shortly after, he shot it. The arrow flew by very quickly, creating a big line on it's way, killing enemies on the path.

"That's one used, two more, I got to conserve this better." Said Green.
"At least you helped us, thanks." Said Dawn.

The battle went for long until, one, huge burst occurred, knocking everyone away from the portal. Then, the army gathered around the portal as well as the commanders. And soon after, Lucifer appeared.

Everyone else gathered around and prepared for any kind of attack.

"So, we meet again..." Said Lucifer.

His appearance changed, he now has purple crystals and matters around his body.

"Where your army ? I thought they'll be here to support you." Said Lucifer.

Everyone looked at Lucifer, holding their weapons, some of them are aiming at him.

"What's the matter Dawn ? I thought have had a deal ?" Ask Lucifer.
"You had a deal because you corrupted me, you made me kill Arcanic !" Said Dawn.
"Hahaha ! That's not my concern... It's your fault, he died by your weapon, not mine." Said Lucifer.
"And you, young lady. What's the matter ? Why you look so angry ?" Ask Lucifer.

Crystal silent, his lantern moved back and forth on her hand.

"Such a shame... The darkness is not here to protect you..." Said Lucifer.
"... Die !" Said Crystal.

Then, a huge light beam hit Lucifer, making him flinched.

"Then, let's fight !" Said Lucifer, as he draw his blade.
