Harsh light from the hanger seeped into the cargo of the carrier as the rear door hissed open. You stood from where you sat, lost deep in thought and gripping tightly onto the handle next to the door as the ship's engines blasted towards the ground lowering it to safety. With a jerking motion it came to a halt and all fell silent as the engines cut out.

"The commander wants to speak with you." Genji's voice echoed in the emptiness. Your eyes narrows as you stepped out into the hanger, your bloodied armour clanking together, making a small metallic grazing noise.

"And I want to speak with him..." You growled lowly under your breath. You didn't have a particular burning question but rather many. Your footsteps echoed loudly as you descended down into the hanger. You spotted the commander from across the room who was stalking up to you with Angela pushing past him and rushing to your aid. She worked around you, asking you countless questions about your physical health but you just kept on walking.

"We need to get you to the med bay (Y/N), you're injured." She crossed her arms over her clipboard holding it to her chest, her white coat flowing from the gusts of polluted air coming from outside.

"I'm fine." You stated coldly. Your burning gaze met the commander's but suddenly you were stopped by a petite hand on your shoulder. She closed the space between the two of you.

"I think you needto go to the med bay...so you don't hurt anyone else." She uttered quietly keeping the conversation private. You looked back towards Jack, she wanted you to leave so you didn't hurt him. The rising tension between you and Morrison was almost unbearable and Angela was right in the middle of it. A brewing storm between two forces and she was the single ray of light slipping through the darkness.

"You're right..." You backed off slightly widening the distance. "I'm damaged." You shifted your unmoving gaze to hers implying the latter of her two sentences was indeed true. There was no need for more blood on your hands, but you certainly wouldn't mind right now if that blood was Jack's. It was no accident that you were taken, and you certainly weren't going to let that go – not anytime soon. Grudges die hard.

Angela let her hand drop to her side as you began to trail close behind her to the med bay even though you had been there many times before – it was practically your second home. All the tests, all the conversations, all the injuries.

Once behind the closed doors of the medical room you began removing your armour. The bloodied chest piece hit the tile ground with a clank, the arm had a deep dent from a passing bullet that had clipped your side. When you had deposited everything and changed into a gown you lay down on the white sheets and stared into the overhead lights. Your chest rose and fell unsteadily, you grasped at your wrists trying to numb the rawness from the tight restraints.

Slowly, Angela slid a needle into the vein of your wrist. Usually you would've winced but by now it was an all too familiar feeling that had numbed over time. She connected a thin plastic tube to it that hung down form beside the bed filling you with much needed nutrients.

"You're malnourished. I'm surprised you even made it out there alive in this state."

"You knew." You let your head rest on the pillow as you watched her cross the room to her computer. "Didn't you?" Angela turned her back and stopped typing momentarily before getting back up and measuring out some medication from small glass bottles that sat in the cabinet. "Angela." You called out her name becoming for some kind of response.

"You won't heal right if you don't get some rest." She added medication to the IV drip.

"Did you know?"

"It'll help you sleep."

"Angela!" You captured her attention, her sulking stare watching on past her silverly blonde bangs. "Did you know?" When she eventually looked up her eyes were glossy in the harsh light, her complexion red and diminished.

"Yes." She whispered.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because it was too late. I tried (Y/N), I really tried but Ja-" She trailed off quickly searching for words, she knew you were already mad at him and she didn't want to make it worse but it was too late.

"What did he do?"

"He wouldn't let me...I even threatened to leave but nothing worked." She came to your side and clutched your hand. "I'm so sorry." Your vision began to blacken around the corners as the medication began to come into effect. "You don't deserve this..." Her gentle voice echoed in your mind as you felt yourself slipping away into the abyss the darkness.
