Aria's P.O.V

I woke up, feeling a rush of sadness take over me.

The first person I saw was Damien, giving me a worried look.

I felt my cheeks.

I was crying.

Of course I was crying.

"Aria, are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, just nightmares." I said.

I should've known my dad would eventually give me nightmares.

Even though I was tired, I was afraid to go back to sleep.

"Here." Damien leaned in and hugged me.

I held back my tears as much as I could.

After a while, he let go and handed me a tissue box.

I wiped my face, feeling embarrassed.

Man, am I lucky to have Damien as a friend.

For a few hours, me and Damien were playing GTA together on our computers, to help clear my mind.

Shayne entered the room.

"Aria, can we talk?"

"Sure." I paused my game. "I'll be back in a little bit."

"Take your time." Damien said.

Me and Shayne left the room, and went to our usual spot.

The bench outside in the back of the building.

Nobody ever went to that side of the building, so it was great for privacy.

We sat down.

"What's up?" I asked, crossing my legs.

"Are you doing okay?" He asked.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I answered, feeling nervous.

"Well, it depends if there's something going on. You can talk to me about anything."

"I know." I said.

There was a long silence. "I'm just not used to talking about my feelings."

"Well, I'm a good person to practice on." He said.

I chuckled. "I know."

There was another long silence.

"You can talk to me whenever you're ready." He said, getting up.

"Wait." I stopped him.

He sat back down.

"So..." I wanted to tell him. I needed to get it off my chest.

But it was so hard.

The last time I tried explaining my feelings was to my parents. That didn't work out well at all.

My parents.

I felt my sadness take over me once more.

I got choked up, so it was hard to say anything at all.

He placed a comforting hand on my knee, causing me to hold back more tears.

"You can talk to me whenever you're ready." He repeated.

But, this time he didn't get up. He sat there, waiting patiently.

He didn't stare at me, he just watched the trees sway to the cold breeze.
