The case of the missing frost

"Run this by me one more time?" Iris said while rubbing her temples slowly.

"Barry and I walked into the bank... we saw a man running so I tried to grab him but he got away anyway and when Barry tried to go after him his speed was gone and he had my ice powers..."

Cisco shakes his head while he wrote gibberish on the white board. Barry was standing next to him creating ice steam in the palms of his hands. "Cait this is literally the coolest thing ever" she looks over at him then she smiles a little at how cute he looked doing that.

"Just wait until killer frost gets in your brain" Cisco stops writing on the board then he swiftly turns around and looks at Caitlin.

"would she even show up in Barry's subconsciousness or is she only in your head?" They all stared at him silently then he takes Caitlin's arm and Barry's and he drags him to the room.

" what are we doing?" Barry mumbles then he looks at Caitlin looking for a silent answer. She didn't have it either.

"I am going to try and activate the fight or flight response in the both of you and see if killer frost responds." Caitlin sat on the table while Barry leaned against the wall.

Iris entered the room and she stood next to Barry, unnecessary of course but she was team leader.. for now.

Cisco turns back around holding a scalpel now "Okay Caitlin, you first" Barry looks at the scalpel while Cisco walks slowly closer to her, he could feel his pulse speeding up before he spoke "hold on you're gonna cut her to get a Response!" Barry pulls away from iris and he stepped in front of Caitlin.

"As much as I appreciate your concern.. I can handle a little pain" she stood up and rubs his back to get him to relax, he was far from relaxed but nevertheless he stepped out of the way again keeping her hand on his arm.

Caitlin watched as Cisco quickly cut a small spot on her lower forearm. She gasped sharply staring at it while it bled for a few seconds then got smaller and the bleeding stopped.

"Okay, now was that your ice or was that his speed?" She shakes her head a little wiping the blood off with a paper towel

"I don't know...." she looks at Barry for a long minute then she looks back at her arm " I'm gonna try and get killer frost to appear" she looks around at the three then she left out of the room to the pipelines.

"I'll go talk to her-" Barry said then he walks for the door but iris stopped him "I got this babe, a little girl power never hurt anyone" he looked down at her and he nods once leaning down and pecking her on the lips.

She walked away after that a cold sensation on her lips still lingering.

"Caitlin?" She called

"Of course..." she mumbles to herself then she turns around facing the opposite way of the shapeshifting meta.

"in here iris!" She heard the footsteps change direction then next thing she knew mrs. Westallen was walking into the pipeline.

"Hey.. what are you doing in here.. with Everyman no less?" Iris motioned to the faceless meta who stood with his arms crossed silently in the little box.

"He and I were just talking. I come in here and talk to him sometimes because he listens to my drama" Everyman nods and he smiles a little then shifts into Barry's shape "unlike some people" Caitlin turned to glance at the cage then she shakes her head a little.

"Yeah I understand feeling lonely Caitlin but I don't think talking to a criminal is the best way to solve that proble-"

"He's still a person iris. He has feelings and he gets hungry and he gets bored." Caitlin steps closer and Iris nods looking to 'barry' then back to Caitlin "I can't talk to the one person who actually gets me and it sucks" Caitlin stops talking when she realized what she had said.

"Hey.. don't worry we're gonna get killer frost back and we're gonna fix your powers back..." iris gave her a smile but Caitlin shakes her head " that's not who I'm talking about..." she turns back around looking at 'Barry' and he gave her his charming smile, almost identical to her Barry.

Cisco's voice came over the monitor then "guys I need you in the cortex I think I figured out what's up!" Caitlin sighs deeply then she waved goodbye and then she turned to walk but ended up speeding off on accident. She knew the way back to the cortex by heart so her stopping was the biggest problem. She nearly crashed into the wall if Barry hadn't stopped her by the arms.

"Hey.." he said over her nervous panting " you okay?" She nods looking up at his face. "Yeah... Cisco figured it out?" He nods and he lets her go hearing iris running down the hallway "come on"

"So I tried to make killer frost appear in Barry and in Caitlin... but then I asked myself why did she appear in Caitlin in the first place? Why couldn't Caitlin use her ice powers without the alter ego?"

Iris shrugs her shoulders and Barry glances at her. "Because... speed and cold are opposites" Caitlin looks at Barry and he looked back at her then he cleared his throat quietly and looked back at Cisco "Caitlin still has her killer frost meta gene and Barry still has his lightning. We just need to figure out how to wake it back up in the both of you"

" so killerfrost won't appear until I'm back with my cold powers?" Cisco nods quickly then she smiles a little " Alright lets fix us up then" Barry nods in agreement.

"And fast. I prefer you without freezing cold lips mister" iris said from the doorway and then they all gave a small chuckle though that comment was the least relevant thing ever.
