The warping blue portal opened in the breach room leaving Iris extremely confused as Barry Caitlin and Cisco hopped out " you guys were gone for like two seconds!" She exclaims and Cisco Gave a half laugh. Barry sped off to the hallway to check on Gideon.

When he got there he immediately told her to pull up the information about Lucas, after a second or two of reading he sighs heavily hanging his head in relief. The future was changed and Lucas wasn't evil anymore.

He heard rapid footsteps and he turned around ready to fight whomever it was. Caitlin.

Her face contorts into solace as well and she threw her arms out catching his neck in a tight hug. They both exhaled sharp breaths finally feeling at ease in each other's arms.

She opens her eyes looking to Gideon as she realized the biggest problems had been solved. Now time for relationship problems. She slowly pulls Barry's arms from around her waist which proved to be difficult since he practically had latched on.

He looks at her face giving a small smile then he put his hands behind his back and leaned forward a little. Caitlin chuckles nervously then she pat his chest " you... you kissed me... twice?" Barry nods while she laughs again stepping around him swiftly.

" you kissed me back...." she blushed a little and she nods turning around and spotting he had come closer as well. " Barry..." she said before looking down then back at his face " you're still married to Iris..." he cups her cheeks and she felt herself melting into his hands almost immediately.

"I'll get a divorce then... I just want you" he leaned down letting his nose brush past hers. He almost kissed her but she pulled back sharply " this is ethically wrong... and as much as I do desperately want to... I can't... we can't" he stares at her heart broken but he understood.

He usually considered himself a loyal person and he especially didn't want to hurt either of them. He puts his hands on his hips nodding quickly "alright. Then I will get out of this ethical mess and then....?" She blushed at his forwardness then she gave a half nod "just figure this out with Iris first..."

She pats his chest then she walks out of the room. Barry turns to watch her leave a small smile on his face of awe, he'd felt like this once before with Iris, until he almost lost Caitlin to the bomb, until he felt so hopeless and so lost that the city would be leveled.

Caitlin had been his beacon of hope and that moment she had not shined like she usually did, so full of confidence and fearless. She was terrified, she was hopeless but she knew she didn't want Barry to die.

He had to talk to Iris.
**********

Barry hardly remembered the drive home, one minute he was walking into the elevator with his wife and the next moment he was walking through the front door as she started talking. He felt himself zone in at her question "huh? Sorry could you repeat that?"

Iris scoffed annoyed then she sat her purse down on the couch, there was so much space between them you could probably fit a small car.

" I said- what are we going to do? You said you don't love me anymore and I don't want to be with you if you're going to be sneaking around with Caitlin all the time-" he breaks the space and the heavy tension between them to clasp her hands " hey.. me and her agreed we wouldn't do anything until I talked to you"

Iris looks down at their hands then she looks back up at his face "see normally Barry.. I would feel safe in your arms, but now I'm just sad... and hurt.... and angry... because you don't want me" he let out a small sigh when she took her hands from his and walked into the kitchen.

She stayed silent now while fixing some sort of alcoholic concoction, she rarely drank at the house, unless she had got a negative review on her article or she was just upset.

"Iris of course I want you.... just not as my wife..." he walks to the counter slowly and she sips down the Jack Daniels. " so what..? You know want to get a divorce?" He nods looking away from her then back when she starts talking again " those are expensive, not to mention we already have enough bills on our plate. In case you forgot we haven't exactly finished paying for the wedding, and the rent is due, along with-"

"Okay okay I get it!" He put his hands over his eyes and he sighed heavily. " I just wish something would be simple... just one thing"

They sat in silence for a few more minutes then she takes a quick sip of the drink. Iris looks him up and down and then she rubs her neck " do you love her?" He looks up at her face silently then she closed her eyes, she already knew the response.

Iris grabs the bottle of jacks then she opens the freezer grabbing some mint chocolate chip ice cream and a spoon " I'll sleep on the couch... you can have the bed..."

"No, Iris.. that's ridiculous, I'll sleep on the couch and you can-" she shot him a look and he sighs not saying anything else " goodnight Barry" she whispers then he started walking up the little stairs with a heavy heart.

His marriage had been legal for less than a year and it was already over. He apparently would have a son sometime in the next two years and he would be marrying Caitlin. He hadn't planned for any of these six years ago. Six years ago it was simple, he wanted Iris and she was clueless.

He wasn't a hero and he didn't have to worry about his enemies from the future coming to try and kill him and he didn't have to worry about his son, or the fact that his son was with a woman he probably wouldn't have met if he hadn't been struck by lightening.

While he laid on the bed he smiled gently, that damn Eobard.... he lifts his phone from the nightstand and then he saw he had a message from Caitlin.

Sleep tight, Barry

Those three words made his heart sing, although maybe he wanted her to say three totally different words. He shakes the thought off for now and he replies back.

Good night, Cait

He put the phone on the pillow next to him then he rolls onto his side. He fell asleep almost instantly, he hadn't realized time travel was such an exhausting thing when you have more then one person to worry about.
